At the highest level, it's already an exclusive club. There are less than 10 schools with any shot to win a national championship. When the super conference is created, that is the one thing that won't change. They can have their money.
The rest of college football will remain the same. It could be improved for the rest of colleges because they can finally stop chasing the Holy Grail and setting into a level of college football they can realistically succeed in. I'll still go to games because I like college football and I don't really care who is playing or about their shot at winning a national championship. This is the main reason I really don't care about conference realignment. It has no meaningful impact on my life.
Casual fans lives won't change because they will watch football on TV regardless.
Degenerate gamblers will bet on anything regardless of a super conference or not.
Alumni will still follow their school.
I agree. I bet the next thing to come along will be a NIT style playoff for smaller teams. More money to throw around.

Does Akron typically release a depth chart on game weeks?

None of this is going to happen, at least not for a long time. The networks aren't going to cut their own arm off by having NFL games on Saturdays.
Check out the Sports Broadcasting Act of 1961. Congress is the reason the nfl can't play games on friday and saturday while high school and college seasons are happening.

This is the Instagram account that posts a ton of pictures and short videos each practice.

They won 2 games last year. Really were outclassed at MSU and Tennessee. Yet you say they are going to win 8 games. 6 in the MAC. No way. Be happy with .500 and building this program instead of a flash in the pan.

There are eight true freshmen listed on the roster at this time.
Made me look up where on Earth Corona Del Sol is located.
LOL - Drew is a good kid. All freshman on the listed roster were on campus for the spring game and are early enrollees. Monday is for the freshman enrolling in the fall.

So are the freshman with the team yet? Haven’t noticed new faces on any social media but not 100% sure that I would? If they aren’t there now I assume it must be soon?
Freshman's first official day is Monday.

Thanks. I’m assuming Hester and Durant will stay on the scholarships they earned last year, but could be wrong. The guys I’m unsure about are Kilbane, Robarge, and Georges. I’d think they are all on scholarship at this point? I don’t believe any of the kickers or LS are currently on scholarship, but makes sense that the guys who win the position will eventually be placed on scholarship. Although that may not be necessary if they are already on full academic scholarships.
Wiley, Castle and Perez were given a spring semester scholarship the other day and told the starting LS, P, Kicker and if Perez is the starter then also the starting KO will be on scholarship next year. Obviously nothing is concrete until next year it could all change.

We've never been to the stadium for a game. We are arriving early to the spring game and wanted to set up a bit of a tailgate. Is there a parking lot or area where people do this?

I hope that means the regular kickers have 50-yard range.
I know at least one does

I hope on his senior day the Zips are beating Kent 51-0 and coach Moorhead, fresh off signing a 10-year contract extension, let’s Bruno kick an XP.
That would be awesome!

6' 8" German import Bruno Dahl was seen trying a few 50 yarders after practice. He's obviously played some soccer in his day. 😁
Bruno kicks some after practice for fun. Unless there is a catastrophic in game injury situation where both kickers and castle go down he won't kick in a game.

It’s really frustrating. This program is invisible to The Akron Beacon Journal but in addition, very little media is generated internally from the program. Maybe they just don’t have the resources? But having said that, they could do interviews with an iPhone. 😡
I do know that this is the person taking a ton of photos at the practices. She is on the media team for the team I think.

To be fair, I went searching for Spring Game info on the Zips Athletics site and their social media and couldn't find anything so I came here. Hard to blame local media when Athletics isn't getting this information out there well enough.
Anyhow, I see someone said 3 PM...any idea if there's a surplus sale this year?
It's scheduled for outdoor unless it rains.

6'2" & 205 lbs really isn't all that big; especially if they plan on playing him on the offensive line as is indicated on the official Zips roster.
The roster is wrong, not sure why he's listed as OL he's actually the punter.

I didn't realize how big Joey Castle really is.

He did just have the best year of his tenure, so I assume they are doing it for recruiting purposes. That being said, it’s still hard to envision BG doing any better than last year with the way their recruiting is currently going.
Shoring up recruiting seems to be the consensus about it. Not sure if it's true but someone over there is saying it's just two years and not much of a bump so still gives them outs to fire him without too much trouble.

This will be my 53rd year as a season ticket holder. I consider my two club seats a bargain. At $500 each I get a parking pass and great club amenities for 5 games. By comparison, I attended a Cavs game recently where a lower level seat went for the same price for one game! Zips athletic events are a bargain.
I'm debating between club seats or seats closer to the field, what are the club amenities you are talking about, other than being under cover?

Fair points. I usually overlook the specialists as my understanding is whoever wins the jobs are the ones who get the scholarships. Unsure who they'd be at this point.
Ohh, I get it, yes. The punter and kicker will get a scholarship, whoever they are.
