Free MAC football on a Tuesday? Why the heck not.

I know that kicking in college especially at our level is always dicey but man you would just hope you could find some kicker somewhere that could have given us a chance to make that.

14/20 194 yards. How do we get this Undercuffler on a consistent basis?

Gathings may talk trash and I wish he wouldn’t, but he looks like our best WR out there.

Am I crazy or is the Bullock/Undercuffler shuffle actually working for once?

I would have loved the TD there but happy with 3. Not going to lie it was a nice series for Bullock there as well. Now it’s on the defense to continue to play strong.

Gathings has had so many shenanigans not get called this year that he was just asking for it to be called in a close game where we have a chance. Unreal.

Great sequence by the defense there. Just need the offense to wake up in the second half.

And we did not. Also got a net punt of a 24 yards to boot!

Bad end the first half. Bad beginning to the second half. Rough stretch.

Hard for this game to get much more even.

EMU is towards the bottom in total defense so my hope is that U can maybe put together a decent game and if Lingard is there all the better. Just seems like so many of U’s turnovers aren’t necessarily because of bad throws but a combination of sack fumbles and being immediately pressured. If we can protect him a bit maybe we have a chance.

The defense played very well all things considered as they only gave up 236 total yards. It was a shame that our offense returned to its poor form right on cue and gave them so little help. It was a shame too because they had some good drives but came away with nothing to show for them.

For my part, this is a memory that I will really cherish for this season. It had a lot of elements that make for a great MAC game. Wednesday night. In the snow and cold. Two teams struggling. It really attracted only the most die hard fans among us. And I don’t care if you watched it live, on TV or read about it the next day in the paper and cheered, we are all together in cheering this team on. I love it and it was all the better that it was a fourth quarter come from behind victory. I’m not going to sit here and tell anyone that it was a win that will turn this season around. It may or may not. But I just really enjoyed living in the moment and sticking it out until the end no matter how dang frustrating it was. And I can’t imagine what it’s been like for all the Zips fans that have been suffering on this board for way longer than me! Hope they all took some joy from this game!
