I could've sworn I heard that some of the coaches in the MAC wanted to do a round-robin type of schedule, meaning you'd play everyone in the conference (East and West) twice. Although I might be mistaken. Perhaps someone else with more info could elaborate.

If Can't beats both Miami and Ohio on the road, I'll say that they deserve to be ahead of us.I like our being ranked 6th this week. Does anybody remember the highest we were ranked last year?Do you really see Can't beating Miami at Millet AND Ohio at the Convo? Aren't those two of the tougher places to play? Edit: Er..I just realized something, Ohio hasn't beaten Can't in 5-6 games. They're due. (hopefully)

I think Miami beats Can't at Millett. They're pissed off, and they've got nothing to lose.

I don't know how to take OU this year. Some nights, they're lights out, other nights, such as against BG, they leave you scratching your head. Surprisingly, Bubba is shooting a LOT less compared to last year. He was 2-9 against Miami with 8 points, 7 assists, no turnovers and 2 rebounds. The three you have to worry about if you're Akron is Williams, Tillman, and Orr.

In my opinion, the 3 biggest homecourt advantages in the MAC are The JAR, Anderson (when it's filled), and The Convo in Athens (The O-Zone occupying the one side of the court lengthwise probably has a lot to do with that though).

Can ANYONE out there explain how in the world Central Michigan is so highly rated this year? They won just 13 games a year ago, now they're a nationally-ranked mid-major?? Do they have THAT good a recruiting class???Because they have Watson, who maybe (arguably) the best PG in the entire conference. Not to mention that the huge improvement they had with their new coach. Their guard's aren't bad, it's their front court that may be the issue with Central Michigan.

Didn't they have one of the best if not the best recruiting class in the MAC? Miami looked overmatched and it looked like Temple had the better athletes. As a side note, maybe all the temple trolls on the NCAA BBS board weren't just blowing smoke after all..

I do hope this trade doesn't come back to bite the Browns.

In all fairness, he really didn't. Anderson stunk in preseason. Yeah, he may have stunk, but at least he was able to move the ball a little bit against the Steeler defense. The announcers said something very intresting though; since Frye got 90% of the snaps in practice, how would Anderson look if he had the majority of snaps like Frye had this past week? Better? Worse? About the same? Something to ponder..

Laing Kennedy allowed permission for Utah to talk to Christian. That's all that's known so far (I think?). Maybe someone else has information.

Well, for starters, you don't *HAVE* to play good teams at Akron. It would be nice, but you have to start somewhere don't you? Second, a lot of the people on media row were right; the MAC needs to start a scheduling alliance with 1 or 2 of the midmajor conferences (like the Horizon for starters). And yes, I'm well aware that foul shooting could come back to bite you in the rear, just like it did tonight. But, the thing is, it happens to every team at one point or another. Seriously though, at some point, the MAC is going to have to give an ultimatum to these teams that schedule cupcakes during the year (i.e BG); that if they don't schedule as well as the rest of the conference, that they could withhold say I dont know, tournament money from the teams that dont comply with the mandate?

You realize that if Akron, and the MAC as a whole scheduled better, that Akron may have been considered an at large bid, right? Heck, look at Miami's schedule; if they had won some of those games, they'd be considered for an at-large bid. The MAC as a whole needs to schedule better though. Period.

I expect the Rowdies to be at the game en masse, if not just to remind them that ! Also, can the Rowdies move further down, closer to the basket? They aren't really in the basketball players line of vision from where they were sitting, where as if they moved down, they'd be seen right behind the backboard.

This is true, although, you don't *have* to have permission per say (U of A may not have known about it), considering one of the apartment complexes in Can't (the Can't Village apartments I think?) had them printed.

I still say if Buffalo's center Idbihi hadn't fouled out, they probably would've come back and beaten CMU. That officiating was . Seriously, it was THAT bad. I was one of the people down front screaming as Witherspoon almost lost his mind cursing at the officials.

Isn't the Winking Lizard usually packed on a consistent basis during MAC Tournament time? You'd think it would be since it's so close in proximity to the Q.
