I saw a statistic on the NIT game the other night that Senderoff has never had a losing record as a head coach. I couldn't believe that was true so I looked it up and since he's only ever been a head coach at Kent, it is true. He's had three seasons where he was exactly .500 but he has never had a losing record. I still bet he'll wake up in cold sweats in the middle of the night at Fordham thinking of Akron.

If you watch a NASCAR race, each car has their main sponsors on the roof and hood. On the side of the car are lots of smaller stickers, at least there used to be before I stopped watching. Those small stickers were called Provisional Sponsorships or something like that. The cost for those sponsorships vary by race by finishing position. The higher the car places in the race, the more money the sponsors pay. Maybe they could sell these types of sponsorships to people or local businesses. The higher the Zips finish in the regular season, the more the players make. Maybe figure out a bonus for winning the MAC Championship. I have no idea where they would be placed.
My experience in life is if you reward behavior, you get that behavior. Reward winning. It's minor league sports now.

Coach did not exactly cement his own return in the latest Beacon article. Have to believe he is getting some calls. Hopefully it passes with no drama.
Wonder what it means that his son Conner is not coming back?

For those wishing to follow Kent, to hope they win and advance the MAC or those who hope they lose, well, because they are Kent. Here is information about the game: https://www.cbssports.com/college-basketball/news/well-traveled-kent-state-visits-stanford-in-nit-second-round/
Kent's victory and the Zips clearly being outmatched against Arizona, am I the only Zip fan left wondering if we had lost to Miami and gone to the NIT, would we be making a run in the NIT?
will have to deal with center Raynaud, the nation's best double-double producer with 24 and averages of 20.1 points and 10.6 rebounds per game.
24 games with a double double is nice and all, still I think 31 is better. 🙂

Go Creighton. F the SEC and their 14 bids (6 of them have already been eliminated!).

They just mentioned on the March Madness telecast that there have been far fewer upsets in the tournament the last 2 years, which happens to coincide exactly with the NIL era combined with the transfer portal.

Not to pour too much salt in the wound but out blocked 9-4, out dunked 10-1, and outrebounded 53-20. 53 rebounds is the most rebounds any team has ever had in the NCAA tournament since 2003. Exactly zero of the things that we said needed to happen to try to win this game happened. Still a great season though. Thank you Zips. See you in November 😊

Why does the MAC/Akron always draw these West Coast teams in the NCAA Tournament.
Three of seven have been Western (Gonzaga, UCLA and Arizona). The others have been Michigan, Notre Dame, Creighton and VCU.

Sadiy not even our worst ever NCAA defeat.

Give Evan Wilson a few minutes.

You can’t blame the announcers for continuously saying “Nate Johnson is the MAC POTY and he he’s been invisible” when Nate Johnson is the MAC POTY and he’s been invisible.
Tough night for him 1-10 so far.

I honestly don't think the Zips will ever win a tournament game.
I believe they will. Just probably not in my lifetime. 😊

Will Arizona finish with more blocked shots or dunks? Blocks leads by one, 7-6.

Outrebounded 30-13.

Tavari having an excellent game. But six blocked shots for AZ. And absolutely getting out hustled for offensive rebounds.
-
Doesn't help that a 32% 3 pt shooting team is shooting 45%. But overall Arizona is playing poorly enough that that's the kind of performance we need from them, but we haven't been able to take advantage of it.

Getting absolutely killed on the boards

Shooting 31% and 0% from three. Arizona over 40 on both. That has to change. Yay! One for three since they changed Scott's shot

I hope that giant gets tired and we can run him down with our depth
-
Man, we are getting blocked inside so much
-
Amani doing Amani things - and that's good.

Wasn't the pregame scouting report that Arizona wasn't a really good 3 point shooting team? I just hope we don't run into the three-point buzz saw like we did last year with Creighton.
