Don't say something like that unless you intend to share the details with those of us who weren't fortunate enough to be there.Seriously... details please.I cant remember exactly what chants we did now as we watched the game at Cleats. But I think we did a "Cry about it" one for Bubba, we got on him a lot throughout the game. Not to mention the large poster of Bubba with the Ohio plastered over the Akron jersey and the word 'Traitor' in red was brought and held up for all to see. And of course we did a "Losing team (point to OU), winning team (point to Akron)" chant along with an "I Believe That We Have Won". It was a fun time.
-
I loved at the end how he looked once again like he was gonna cry and then put a towel up to his face because he still can not beat Akron. I had no question in my mind that we were going to win.

I second this! I refuse to lose to them on our own floor, I will not have any of it. We have to defend the JAR and get some revenge for that first meeting back in January. I will be there Sunday, loud and rowdy, and I hope everyone will do the same. I plan on doing lots of this to Cant that night. GO ZIPS! 6 days.....And how could I forget...

Akron & Ohio U control their own....

I agree. Let the other East teams beat up on each other, wear each other out, and send each other home. While it would be exciting and a big draw to see an Akron vs Cant match up in the finals, I dont know if I could take that much. Unless you have a very worn out Cant team by then which could happen. The bottom line...I just want to win and get into The Dance as he said. -
All I can say is that game was amazing, what a huge win! They played well throughout the game I thought and when Miami would get a couple big baskets to bring it back we would go back to work and get some points on the board. And all that with no Wood. Just think how good we can be when we get him back! Plus Ced seems to be getting back to his old self (hit the 1000 point mark last night) and different guys seem to be stepping it up every game. Had some deja vu there at the end with the score being close to what it was in last years final and having Ced at the line nailing his 2 shots this time. As one of the Rowdies who went on the bus-trip down there, we were going crazy at the end with the last minute or so! I would love to see replays of that. It was the best feeling to be in their house and get a road win like that and beat them twice this year!! Wont give us last years championship but this feels pretty good. Their fans were pretty quiet most of the time so I think we did a good job being loud and rowdy throughout the game. Heard the Miami announcers I believe it was say something about there being 200 Rowdies there...I guess the other 2 bus loads got lost in the cornfields down there I'm pumped for Saturday's game and the rest of the season...GO ZIPS!!!!

ZIPS win!! It was close there at the end but they pulled it out, what a game by Cedrick! Hopefully he's getting back to his old self. Looking forward to going and watching them play at Miami Tuesday now.

Oh what the heck?! Where was the team we saw in the first half? Can we start blocking and getting that offense going here. And I think the defense we found before is leaving too.
-
Sounds like we have some good aggressive defense that showed up today! Looks like it's going to be a very low scoring game if this keeps up.They just said there's some Rowdies there, dont know how many.
-
They're reporting that Woods is ahead of schedule and should be ready by the end of the season. They're also saying they are not ruling him out for the VCU game next Saturday although that's a big maybe, and should be ready to go by the Buffalo game on March 1. Great news there!

I will be on and off here listening and trying to get some homework done at the same time. That homework part might only last for about 5 minutes in reality though hahaOn one side being on the road and after losing to NIU at home by 10 points and watching our play during that game, I'm somewhat scared of how we're gonna come out and if guys are going to step-up for this game. It think we should be able to tell early on how the game is going to go. On the other side though we did beat them 80-44 if my memory is correct when we played them at home so even though we may not win by that same margin being on the road and not having Woods, it's hard to think that margin of victory could completely disappear and go the other way.

It's hard tonight to keep believing, but the season will go on. That was tough to watch especially in our house. It just looked like they were confused at times on what to do and where to be. I think we need to get back to basics or something. You could see how much we miss Wood during that game. I agree with your other points about Cedrick and Dials. I saw Dials go down once in the second half I believe and it was like he was struggling to get back up on his feet. When you mention our once promising season you think back on how we really had it going and had such high hopes. Then it's like we lost to Cant and CMU and we sort of hit a brick wall. We werent used to losing much like this. Things dont look so good at this moment tonight but hopefully we can get back on track here with some tough games coming up. I'm gonna keep the faith, it's not over.
-
Tonight's game will go on because the other team is already in town as of yesterday. I remember this same type of thing happening almost to the day last year and the game still went on. I was there last year and wouldnt miss this game either! Hopefully we can still get a good size crowd to show up and cheer them on...GO ZIPS!!
-
Good post sgm! When I heard Wood was gone for 4 weeks along with 2 of our other top seniors being banged up, my hopes kinda faded for this season I'm sad to say. But with the road win against Ball State, w/out Wood and Ced seeing only a few minutes and having to have other guys step up, my hope is now back and I still have faith that this could be our year! We still have some big games coming up that have already been mentioned (Miami, OU, and I will NOT lose to Cant again) and I think if guys start stepping it up when they're needed and we can maybe rest Ced and Dials a little bit so they're not completely gone by the time the tourny comes then I think we'll be ok. It's not as if the team has completely changed now or from last year, still the same guys. They have the talent and have it in them to get this done and we as fans have to also step it up and cheer them on. I'm a senior so this is my last year as a student to watch them play, so forget talking about next year already. I believe that we can continue winning now and go dancin'!!
-
Oh geez, it was only a matter a time before something like this happened with as many guys as we have hurting right now. I just feel bad that this is his senior year and he has to miss out like this. But like GoZips88 said....4 weeks brings us exactly the the Akron vs Cant game...will be be able to practice before then to be able to play any or will he just be available for the Tournament and at what percent?? He is what has kept us in the game with his play and I sure hope someone can step it up because he will very much be missed with some big games coming up.
-
I REALLY wish I could be at the game tonight but with 3 classes that I already missed to go to last weeks Akron vs Cant game I cant miss them again. Hopefully the crowd will be a good size and they can get some encouragement and a little extra push from that. I agree with uakronkid that you can really see the seniors and certain guys on the team pushing the team harder and their determination to win. I know it will hurt to possibly have both Woods and Cedrick out tonight but better to get them some rest and get them better than to have more problems down the line like in March when we must win.
