I think the statement is probably correct (that 5% feel like he should be fired), but I agree that it is ludicrous that there are people calling for his firing.There are too many people on this board that think they know how to coach better than the head coach. If they were so good, they should submit their resumes to the university so that they can take over his job. Obviously, they must know what goes on in practice, and can determine better than KD how playing time should be doled out. - First 20 win season since 1989. - 22 wins with players (according to some people on this board) that couldn't play for the sisters of the poor JV team. - 2 losses at home in 2 yrs.It's just so obvious to me that certain people on this board could do SO MUCH better than that - - - NOT!Some people need to get off the bandwagon, and support this team through good or bad.

When did this board start letting 2nd and 3rd graders on? Those last two posts just make the rest of us Akron fans look like idiots. Would you please grow up?

I love it when fans think they know everything about a program, and none of them have ever been through a single practice with the team.That's what it comes down to. We don't know what goes on in practice. Maybe he stinks it up in practice. KD is the one that sees all the practices, he is the one that gets paid to make the decisions, he is the coach. Let him do his job.If the kid were tearing it up in practice, I gaurantee you, he'd be on the court tearing it up.

ziptrumpet87 has the start of my suggesetions, but didn't explain it. Take the school newspaper in, and when the other team is being introduced, EVERY student opens up the paper as wide as possible, in front of their faces, arms outstretched, and the entire student section becomes one big mass of newspaper (nobody pays attention to the other team). I've even seen some schools not only open the paper like they are reading it, but turn their backs as well - totally disrespecting the other teams intros.Then, when it comes time for the Zips, everyone turns back around and puts the papers away, or throws them in the air and knows its time to get ROWDY!!!Then, if you want to take it one step further, after the intros, everyone tears their papers into little confetti (I don't know how the school will like this) and holds on to it until the first Zip basket is made. At that point ALL the students through the confetti into the air, and the game is on.

How about a trade? KD for Bob Huggins. Huggins is looking for a school, and the rumor is that he will be bringing three of the N.College Hill players with him (OJ Mayo & Co.).

basketballman31,If bubba was doing so much more than dials, he wouldn't have been losing minutes like he was. For what I saw at the beginning of the season, bubba couldn't hit the broad side of a barn (from the inside!). I'd say the other guards are doing better than that since Akron is leading most of the MAC stats for offense.And what it tells me that OU will take him when AU doesn't use him is that OU isn't the #1 team in the MAC anymore.

The thing that I am not understanding is that if it had to do with apartment life or dorm life, how is that going to get any different at OU? It would be a different story if he were going to be going to a school in Cincy, and living with Mom and Dad, but he isn't - sounds like a bad excuse.He saw the writing on the wall and knew that the talent level at UA had gone up, and he would be losing PT.

Didn't Bubba start all season last year? Maybe part of the reason is because he isn't starting now?

Rebounding... I didn't see a bit of it from the zips while sitting there in Louisville. Hopefully they'll see that in films and correct the problem. It seems like Futch should be able to DOMINATE the boards with is size. If we pick that up, we'll be a lot better.

I guess I'd have to disagree on that last statement. 33 to 8 and the refs weren't that bad? The announcers on the radio, players on the team, and fans from Cal. all said that it was the worst reffed game they had ever seen. It's pretty bad when you got your own fans laughing at the absurdity of the calls going their way. Then you have the cal players telling the Akron players during the game that "you should've expected this". A little too obvious there. Regardless, I guess Akron hung in there pretty good. Hopefully they'll have a good game and Louisville will have a bad one Saturday.

Are the games normall on TV in Akron? What about other parts of the state/country? Does the ESPN Fullcourt package ever show UA bkbl? Would FoxSportsOhio show them all over the state, or just in and around Akron?

He if anyone will be ready for at least part of the season. I'd put my money on a shorter than 9 months recovery.
