No one is mentioning Barley House. If i remember correctly, last year for the OU Akron game all the servers were wearing Akron stuff and they had a DJ and had contests and Akron threw up an EGG. That is the problem sometimes, when everyone gets behind Akron we lose. Listen, I grew up in columbus and played for Akron, still went to OSU Akron game wearing my Blue and Gold with Pride. It just takes time, you know there are going to be front runners, that is the nature of college football. Until we consitantly do well, like OSU, we are going to struggle. I say we find out this Saturday if Barley House will have the game and see what is there.

I have some very fond memories of Marshall vs Akron, but nothing beats the comeback game when we scored 17 in the final couple minutes to win the game, and the great picture with Crouch standing over Goddard as he layed on his back exhausted, because we were running up and down the field. That was how we sent them out of the MAC! They were the most unclassy players ever, except maybe UCF. Those D-Linemen would do nothing but talk S*$T while they were being pushed back. That was my fondest memory of Marshall. That and the first game of my redshirt freshman year when the first play of the game scott smith got a late hit call. haha too funny. Jumping over the pile and hitting a player so late.

I liked the commercial...BUT they don't mention Akron, i thought they did, DVR'd it and they don't say Akron. To follow up on someone else's point, they didn't say "They didn't even know where he played" they said "They didn't know WHAT he played, is he a linebacker or defensive line or is he a basketball player."

Any former players going to the golf outing? It's during a weekday and many former players, those of us who continued on as a professional in something other than sports, will have to work. Am i correct to say that it is on a Monday? I think that is what i read. Let me know.

Great statement. Not to downplay what the Western Michigan Coach did, but as stated in a previous post. If JD could get MAC coach of the year last year, what about this year? Also, a total lack of disrespect by the league coaches for our players. NO ONE on first team??? A team that is playing in the MAC Championship should get some.

Donaldson was def. one of the top two linemen, if not the top. The sad thing is that he has broken his foot the past 2 years before this one. all at the same time during the summer. too bad for him, he had to be pumped up for this season, coming in soo highly recruited, and not playing yet. he is a good kid, he'll bounce back.

Not to mention that 61 played in a all-star game. Oh well, if anyone from Akron other than Charlie deserved a chance based soly on heart it is little Grz. He loves the game and has a work ethic unmatched. I'm happy for him. Conley decided awhile ago that he had too many injuries to go on. I am surprised that either 61 or 62 got at least a tryout, i mean those two started 35 straight games, that deserves at least a shot. To my understanding 62 has not yet given up yet, and 61 is on the edge. He is about to graduate and is ready to move on. Congrats to Griz and Chase, hope they make it, and I hope Picc makes it too. Hope everything works out for everyone
