uakronkid....it was noted before in this conversation, the MAC has nothing to do with our OOC schedule. Also, if Chryst wanted to bolt after some impressive football between the MAC and BCS schools he could have done so a few years ago when Toledo, Marshall and others were making a name for the MAC. On another topic...I have heard that Brian Kelly from Cinci will be getting the Michigan job. I also was told that Mike Waddell was in town checking out JD at practice last week. Could mean absolutely nothing, but thought I would put that out there.

I agree with the assistant coaching issue. But, keep in mind that Akron doesn't pay very well. That is one factor that takes coaches to new places. Additionally, Winters....he had a great run as the OC with the LO staff, but I don't think he's the direction to move in towards the next head coach. Being the OC and the head coach are two different worlds. JD was a great OC at Pitt. In Winters' three seasons as the HC at D-2 Wayne State his teams were 3-7, 6-5, and now 3-7 with one game left in 2007. Great guy, great Akron alum, but not the route the Zips should ever consider taking.

Tell you what, I'll watch the games at InfoCision stadium in 2009 and you can watch from the Rubber Bowl. You can have any seat you want. Don't let the black mold or falling objects get you.

They didn't marry Akron, they just took a job. While they are here they will work to make Akron the best it can be. If they have great success and get an offer that takes them to even greater opportunities, then they should go. If that's the case, then they don't owe us anything because they would have already done so much for us. Give Brookhart a break. He won us a championship JUST two years ago. I don't recall any other coaches bringing that trophy to us since we went 1-A. If you want these guys to be so dedicated to Akron, how about you be dedicated to them too instead of stabbing them in the back when the team stumbles a little.

I agree about Moorehead. I hated his play calling last year and I hate it this year. Whenever we open the offense up we seem to have more success, but he just doesn't seem to get it. From my understanding he only got the OC job because he told JD he was going to leave for another job offer he had unless he got the OC job. JD gave it to him and it turns out that there was no other job offer. That's what I have been told from insiders. I don't know if its true or not, but it sure would explain why he seems to be overwhelmed and not the best decision maker. I don't think he's the right man for the job. On the bright side, I do feel we have the talent to make a good run at the MAC title.

Harvey isn't coming back. He flunked out of school. He didn't even bother to attend spring classes.
