MACPicks

I've had several people ask me about the pickem site so I wanted to get this post up for anyone wondering. Long story short, my webhost stopped supporting the database program I use to run the pickem site. I keep thinking I will get around to educating myself enough to re-do it and get it up and running, but I've finally accepted that it just isn't going to happen. With 3 young kids, a demanding job and coaching & administering youth sports...I just can't find the time. As some of you know, the site started as a college project 15 years ago. I was a dual MIS/Accounting major, and my career went the accounting route. Because of that, my programming skills are severely outdated and limited but as long as my archaic crotchety old website worked I kept running it. The timing was not ideal, the migration hit just a few weeks ago leaving a short window. I'm hopeful I can get to it over the coming year and come back in 2018 with a revamped site, and we can view Pick Em 2017 like we do MLB 1994. I apologize for not having it up and running and thank those of you who have played over the years.

Great analysis Wad...I especially liked your mention of the mental aspect. Abreu and Marshall have no doubt been affected mentally in this rivalry. I think you have to give the advantage to the home team in both matchups, and we'll see what happens in Cleveland. It is a shame both teams struggled a bit on the road in OOC or we'd have 2 teams already in great position for an at-large.

Questioning the #1 party school in America's ability to party, really? They called the entire gathering uptown Fugitive-Fest...as in 20+ bars full of people who mostly would not have otherwise if classes wern't cancelled. Not sure how you capture that in 1 photo...the picture you refer to was not supposed to representive the entire "party."

Thanks guys - Akron is essentially in first if you ask me, considering the 2 groups ahead of them (Eastern Mich & None) have basically 1 person representing the groups. I'd love to get more EMU fans represented on the site, but that would take some kind of miracle. Just came back to remind everyone to get their 2nd round of picks in by tomorrow night.

I think what he is referencing is after Dambrot mentioned the timeouts for making his players look at the scoreboard and feel it more...He added that he wanted to make sure Tommy Freeman didn't get hurt again and they could get him out of the game. He then said something else then said he was kidding about Freeman. I'm not real sure what he was getting at...Perhaps a jab that Groce did not take the starters out of the game until very late, perhaps a jab at Tommy Freeman and his reputation of being a flopper, perhaps something else. I think there was definitely something to it.
