  1. In your "world" that's probably true. However, this is the discussion board of a mid-major school. When a 1-AA school or a MAC school beats a Big 10 school it hits home with us, and is worth of mention on this board. As a shill for OSU and the Big 10, you wouldn't understand. In fact it is very obvious you don't understand. Nice post, Dan!! And congrats to Andy! Thanks Cap.

In fact it is very obvious you don't understand. Nice post, Dan!! And congrats to Andy! This from a guy who called OSU "Total F-ing dirtbags" because they didn't call up Akron to give them more money when they scheduled Can't and YSU.Then, when that POV was demonstrated to be preposterous, you mysteriously had no more to say on the subject. That, and your "if Charlie Coles was really serious about Akron getting hosed, he would have his players wear black armbands!" comment show me that it's not just that you put Akron first (great), you expect the rest of the world to, too.I love upsets and I love the MAC. But until these upsets are as frequent as the losses and are the rule rather than the exception, of course the Big Ten will get the lion's share of coverage. You guys act like the BCS conferences and the Big Ten should run the table every year and if they lose three or four non-BCS games against 20 wins, they should be held in no higher regard than the non-BCS conferences. Hell, if I knew nothing of college football, the first post in this thread would convince me that the MAC is every bit as good, top to bottom, as the Big Ten. You guys are more biased and delusional then the guys you bash for being biased and delusional. Just like Boise State was, this will be the story of the year in the mainstream media. They love upsets and love a cinderella. You just got to earn it on the field. The reason the Big Ten gets the share of media they do is precisely because it doesn't happen very often. Stop playing the victim, and stop demanding the world on a silver platter. It's patently obvious the media is happy to fawn over giant-slayers. You just have to keep doing it to keep getting commensurate coverage. This is actually pretty reasonable. You remember when Urban Meyer's Utah team whipped Pitt 35-7 in 2004 in the Fiesta Bowl to finish the season undefeated? Boise State beat Oklahoma in last year's Fiesta Bowl. Akron beat NC State last season. Stanford lost to I-AA UC Davis 20-17 in 2005. Can't beat Iowa State (Big XII) on Thursday, BG beat Minn (Big 10) today, Wyoming (Mountain West) beat Virginia (ACC) today 23-3, and to cap it off Appalachian State beat #5 Michigan today. It's time to change the system, because if Michigan wins out the Big 10, they'll still make a BCS bowl game guaranteed because that's what the cartel that is BCS has set up. ANY TIME A I-AA SCHOOL BEATS THE #5 TEAM IN THE NATION (ESPECIALLY IN THEIR HOUSE), that team should NEVER have the chance to play in a BCS bowl game...EVER! But you and I know that the scam will continue until the system is changed and each conference has a championship game where ACTUAL GAME PLAY MATTERS MORE THAN POLLS. The Big 11 keeps it at 11 teams for a reason, so they don't have to play a championship game, which could *gasp* cause the loser to play in a lower profile bowl (which is what happens in every other conference that has a championship game). It's time to settle it on the field, not by computer and "expert" polls. I-A independents need to be rid of as well, especially Notre Dame and their exclusive NBC tv contract. If you're Big East in BBall...you should be Big East in football too. Time to make things fair.
  3. Look...you and I know that college football is HEAVILY biased towards so-called "big conference" schools. The BCS is a joke (remember Boise State beating Oklahoma? Who doesn't?) The best part of what happend in Ann Arbor today is that it happend live on the "big preTENd network" in the Big House. Today's big preTENd schedule consisted of I-AA opponents. If big blue would have won today and won out the regular season you KNOW they would be top 1 or 2 and playing for a national championship. If the Zips played a I-AA, won, and won out their schedule, they would not sniff a BCS game. The Zips and the rest of the teams in the MAC that get no respect by the polls and the BCS should love to see what happened today. I have DirecTV with the Big Ten Network out here in Colorado, watched the whole game and had to listen to the understandably biased talking heads on the BTN make excuses for Michigan's poor play. They also did a run down of other games happening in the conference during halftime and mentioned that big preTENd schools don't like to travel to MAC schools when speaking of Purdue having to travel to Toledo. You remember how it felt when the Zips beat NC State...I was at that game...it was sweet, sweet silence after hearing the trash talk from the NC State fans. So dont' try to make excuses for the Big 10, today is the day it was exposed for what it is...a scam perpetuated by the BCS. I'll be watching Akron for sure on Fox Sports Rocky Mountain tonight, it just happened that the biggest upset in college football happened before the Zips took the field so I had to comment. Oh, and by the way, just got a call from Andy, he is on the Saints active roster. Another Zip representing in the NFL.
  4. Couldn't have happened to a better team except maybe tOSU.
  5. I was at the Broncos v. Browns game and saw DH as a return man. He looked good when he could get a returnable ball (2 or 3 were touchbacks). Hope he does well, I'll get to see him on local tv out here in HD (ha, DH in HD sorry about that.)
  6. I found the template on a custom covers site and modified it with a picture I took at the NC State game.
  7. Oh yeah, and if anyone knows who I can talk to for the full size resolution copy of #57 holding his arms up at the NC State game off the Gozips.com site, let me know. Thanks.
  8. Hey everyone, long time no write for me. Sorry to start a new topic on the NCAA videogame, but I couldn't pass up making a cover for NCAA 08 for the XBOX 360. This is based on a picture I took at the NC State Game last year of Andy Wills and my brother blocking for Luke, I didn't get a chance to print it out to see how it fits a game box but give it a shot. Enjoy...GO ZIPS!...(and GO SAINTS!)
  9. Congrats to Luke, it's great to see former Zips in the NFL. Andy starts rookie camp this Saturday with the Saints, he's on his way down there right now.
  10. He hasn't graduated yet, but in other interviews he's addressed that issue. When he transferred from Pitt to Akron, some of his credits didn't transfer with him. He is planning on finishing his degree, I believe he has one semster left. I have my DDS so I've been through the full 8 years of post-high school learning and I fully support his decision to take time off from school to focus, for now, on football. You are correct in your assesment of him...he is intelligent, and he also knows that a degree is very valuable.-DNA
  11. Here's an audio link to Andy's interview from "The Afternoon Blitz" with Adam Schein and Solomon Wilcots on Sirius NFL Radio. Andy AllemanEnjoy.
  12. Thanks for your comments Z.I.P. If you're ever out in Colorado and need a dentist you'll know where to find me. We used to get our hair cut at Skip's Barbershop (The oddfellow hall) too, that's literally one block from our parent's house. Greentown is the OG capital of NEO (should get a sign put up at the township line).
  13. I found this on denverbroncos.com posted March 23rd. It's a video of Andy during his combine interview including his updated Pro Day numbers. Smooth as butter.Andy Alleman
