I guess this would be another reason why someone like Wells should consider Akron. Memphis and Akron are on a parallel football level. If a guy the quality of DeAngelo can select Memphis, why not Wells select Akron?
Wonder if JD can assemble Charlie Frye, Jason Taylor, Dwight Smith, Chase Blackburn and Ryan Myers to call Wells and let him know the road to the NFL can go through Akron.
DeAngelo was heavily recruited by Arkansas, Mississippi, and Iowa. He chose Memphis because he had a chance to re-write the Memphis record book. He is a great back and gets many of his yards quietly.
We also have a great field goal kicker. Our special teams are good. Passing offense is very limited though.
