  1. Any Zips fans tailgating at Ohio State today?

I'm sure there are a few but I'm not at the game.

  2. Upgrade the JAR. Lose the track, and move the upper seats forward, where you can enter from behind the seats. No sense in a new arena when you can't fill this one. Love the idea of past football Jerseys for sale. Hope they sell the version this year that debuted in 2009. bobbleheads also a good idea. Quit the Sunday afternoon games. Cuts into the NFL on TV, and being a season ticket holder, I go the the Zips. Play a better hoops schedule. Goes without saying.
  3. So, when they win tonight, anyone have an extra ticket for tonight. Even stub hub has nothing. Would like to go, but its all sold out, and a long trip for nothing. Good hotel prices available, and Raleigh is great party town with a good group of bars in walking distance.
  4. Schedule needs a big upgrade, without a doubt. Need more early season games like Pittsburgh and Louisville a couple years back. A local CSU or YSU yearly rivalry would be nice as a regular draw but won't help us nationally. Need more tough road games. Even next years bracket buster with Valpo coming here will not be much to look forward to, as Valpo had a bunch of seniors and will be rebuilding. Need to play some hitters.
  5. Akron just seems non-supportive not matter what we have. Never filled the joint in Huggins days either on a consistent basis. Still think back to some of the great battles when the place was packed for the OVC Championship Game and I remember Kevin Mackey coming in with his CSU team with Mouse McFadden. Also remember some great crowds for Can't State games. Those were exciting times, but just not enough of them. Its a shame, with us being the only College Show in town, and the great product we've put on the court for the last five years. Not sure if a new arena would help, as I'm not convinced after this year that the new stadium won't show similar attendance that the Rubber Bowl got. Would like the see the Jar remodeled and the upper seats moved closer to the action, but not sure thats in the offing.Need to keep winning, get the coverage, and maybe something will click.
  6. Still coming down from a great experience in Portland. Great entertainment area, with some decent night life. Found a few good bars. People in from all over the country. Even got some cheers while wearing the Zips logo for the teams effort. Heard enough questions about what a Zip is though. How many city's have free mass transportation like Portland does with their trains and street cars? Cool place. I moved up to Seattle Friday night, but I should have stayed in Portland. I think the program is headed in the right direction, and I look forward for more regular visits to the Field of 64. Now, lets get ready for Zips football.
  7. Upsets abound in this tournament yearly. The Zips team you saw in the MAC Tourney was a different team than we watched the last two days of the regular season. Zaga is big and undefeated in their conference. But, if we continue to drop it in from outside, this could be interesting.I'm going, and looking forward to the experience. Flying into Seattle, but staying dntn Portland Thursday and hopefully a couple days longer. If anyone knows any party spots, please post them on this site.Rumor is the nightlifes at 23rd street with a big strip of bars and restaurants.Route on the Zips and their fans who are traveling.Hopefully, I can plan a trip to Memphis next weekend.Lets do it.
  8. I'm going. Waited 25 years as a season ticket holder, and I can't pass it up. Airline tickets to Portland were ugly, so I'm flying to seattle tonight. Driving in the morning. Who knows the area, the bars, etc? Wheres the party? Anyone know if Akron go rid of their ticket allotment. The ticket office advised me after I reserved that Zags fans had been calling for our unused tix.Go Zips. Remember, the fun part of the tournament is the upsets.
  9. Picking a bad part of the season to start playing bad. Lucky to survive BGSU. Free throw shooting is horendous. Getting nervous.I hope I'm wrong, but I fear are last regular season win was Saturday.
  10. Scuttlebutt among those supposedly in the know at the Buffalo game stated that if Akron gets 6 wins, meaning winning one of the next two games they will get an invite to the new bowl game in Toronto. Supposedly the Toronto people are interested in Akron due to the close proximity and how well they traveled to Detroit.
