  1. Sounds like the old May Day festivities here. It was the same thing when I was at school in Oxford a few years back. The students were a small minority in the situation but the university took the lumps for it.
  2. Talk about biting a hand that feeds you. Do you know how many scholarships 375,000 would pay for? 375,000 would also offset a bit of that stadium cost you guys are incurring. If you want the monies to go to some obscure Indiana or Michigan schools so be it, but I prefer it goes to in state MAC schools.
  3. That is an interesting little factoid. Thanks from a sports minutia junky.
  4. I am a Bengals fan so any QB controversy in Cleveland is music to my ears. That being said I think sitting Quinn is the right path. Trotting him out there now will get him beaten up and shatter his confidence which spells disaster for new QB's in the NFL.
  5. The thing that the media and a lot of others fail to point out is the fact that most of the rioters were not students. They were local morons looking for an excuse to act out.
  6. Special teams mistakes happen a lot early in the season. A blocked punt vs Ohio State could be a game changer. Our coaching staff is very good at game planning (with the obvious exception being the NC game vs. Florida) for opponent weaknesses. As for the Buckeyes, we have a lot of inexperience on offense. Beokman looks like he will be a very good qb but his lack of experience is a concern. We also did not runt he ball as well againts Youngstown State as I thought we would. We have one of the better offensive lines in the country but Youngstown seemed determined to make us throw it throwing 8-9 in the box consistently.Defensively we had a DE break his leg last week. Luckily our front seven has depth to burn so it isn't that much of a concern.
  7. Wow. I think it's great that you guys support your team but supporting your team does not mean tossing common courtesy out the window. "The Shoe" for the record is Ohio stadium which holds a little over 100,000 people and has sold out week in week out for the past 50 years or so. It is the place where Ohio States staff had the courtesy to invite your school to play against them in order to keep the money they pay visiting teams with Ohio schools. It also gives mid major schools a little well deserved exposure. I prefer to leave the smack talk to the football players.
  8. www.buckeyeplanet.comtell them Cicero sent you.
  9. I am an MU grad and did my graduate work at BGSU. I was a Buckeye fan before attending either school and am still a Buckeye fan. This doesn't make me a front runner, my identity as a football fan simply lies elsewhere. That is kind of a myopic view isn't it?
  10. I did my graduate work at BGSU. It was fun to watch them pull that off. Going for 2 was a gutsy call, but I liked it. I am a Buckeye fan but MAC educated. I generally root for MAC teams except when they come to Columbus. (or is they happen to be Ohio U)
  11. I would take those odds. OSU is not a team that will run the score up on their opponents. If the game gets lopsided we will see the second and third string players come in.
  12. Just wanted to stop by to say welcome to the shoe and here's to a well played injury free game. I do not know a lot about your team. What do you consider to greatest strengths? Weaknesses?
