  1. They already ran out once and got more in tuesday morning. My friend bought my ticket yesterday afternoon and apparently they were almost gone.
  2. When i sent a message to Bubba down at OU he responded too. We actually had a decent conversation.
  3. Trust me I've already sent messages before the OU and Can't games to each teams stars.
  4. it wouldn't be that hard. Everyone has their sn on facebook. just find someone at their school and have them look it up.
  5. You're damn right it does. Give our team right now a shot at Louisville right now and I couldn't pick a clear cut fav. When looking at RPI you can't say 60 is def better than 62 or even 70, it's more of a grouping. Can't being 60 and us at 64 shows you that the two teams are pretty much equal, although we know we're better, as are most teams within 15 to 20 spots of eachother.Just in case antonio forgot
  6. Better exposure? I disagree. The NIT is something for the alsorans. The NCAA is where all the attention is. No, I don't want to play in the big game because we might lose. What kind of fan thinks this way. This is not an attack on you personally, but your thinking is a bit naive. I don't feel bad at all by getting beaten by Nevada. They are a great team and our guys stayed in it for most of the first half. There is no shame in losing to a better team. Sure there would be pride at UA for doing well in the NIT, but no one else would care about that. Also, if we aren't in the NCAA's, we didn't win our conference tournament which can leave teams with good records sitting home wondering what could have been. The NIT is by no means a lock and the NCAA at large is extinct. Take that chore out of those who select the teams and could care less about your school or conference, and win the right to be in the tournament. The NCAA tournament. My 2 1/2 cents. Bash away. My argument was based strictly on the poll. I think the Zips are good enough to win the MAC tourney and when they do there's a good chance they are going to the Sweet 16. That's what I think is going to happen, depending on the bracket of course. My earlier response was about the one and done. In response to the "who remembers who was in the NIT final four last year?", sports writers and coaches sure do. When you're talking about exposure those are the people you need on your side coming into next year. Also as it was said, the NIT is no walk in the park. We've all seen good teams get beat in that tournament all the time. It would be amazing for this year's Zips to make it to the Final Four in that tournament. But again I'd rather see them in the NCAA Sweet 16.There's one team that doesn't have to worry about this and that's 'cause . They're not going to do either!!
  7. This will be a definate Shellacking. WMU was one of the worst teams, in my opinion, that came to the JAR all year. Them barely pulling it out against a terrible Central team at home shows they can't handle a team like the high powered Zips. We have a walk to the finals. Looks like that number one seed really worked for ya Shit State. lolHAHAHAHAHAHA
  8. No disrespect to you but any college basketball fan knows the postseason is so much more important than the regular season. One and done after a bad loss to Nevada is about the worst kind of exposure for us. Now if we make it and get an upset in the first round and lose the next round I say NCAA all the way, but as the poll puts it, the NIT final four is much better publicity than one and done in the big dance. With that being said Let's go Zips and win the MAC and make the Sweet 16. That's my pick.oh I almost forgot
  9. Any public school maybe.
  10. Everytime Antonio posts it reminds us of how fortunate we are to get a real education. Nothing he says ever has any merit to it. Thanks Antonio and please keep posting to make us all look good.
  11. There was one security guard in front of my entire side of the basket. If you can't overcome that then wow, you are not a true fan.
  12. Just so you know the university can't stop anyone from going to a game that's not at Akron. I'm sure the Q doesn't give 2 shits about someone storming the floor at their own school. So bad argument. No matter what anyone says that was piss poor. No excuse is a good one. I'd love to hear someone try but really, no excuse for not doin it.
  13. Very well done. I barely had to yell at anyone this game to get loud. My friend that had to work listened to it on the radio and said we were so loud it was insane. That second half was awesome. Can't couldn't get a single offensive set without it being so loud they couldn't hear themselves think. Only one complaint and it's kind of a big one. WHERE WERE ALL OF YOU AFTER THE GAME. I think other than us painted people maybe one or two people rushed the floor. No one said anything to us. They actually said good job when we came back into the stands. Everyone talks about being the new best student section and how we want to be like some of the bigger programs. Every school that wins a big rivalry storms the court afterwards. Don't say that the ropes stopped you cause every school has that. It's NCAA rules that they have to be there. That better not happen next year after sweeping the golden suckoffs.
  14. I could ask the same question to you. Don't get me wrong, I like Nick. Whatever he did in the second half did nothing to overcome the pile of crap he left on the floor the first half. The first half of the game was a disaster and he was a large part of it. On the whole, he played well all season. I'm just pointing to his play yesterday. If you want to look at which player's defense was exceptional, look no further than the effort Futch was putting out on defense right before he was thrown out. The guy was working his ass off. Most of the time he makes us scratch our heads, but he played one of his better games as a Zip yesterday. Surprise I have to defend Dials. Just so you know since the last Can't game Dials has averaged 2.8 TO's a game so yesterday was not any big mistake on that end. Shooters other than JJ Reddick and maybe Morrison are not going to be on ever night. They have bad games and I'm not sure if you saw that disgusting display the refs put on. Him getting hammered everytime he tried to move might have something to do with his inability to shoot. Oh and he had two steals and 3 assists so i think that more than makes up for his 3 TO's. He's right, what game were you watching. On another note, the "Rowdies" that say the rope or security guards stopped them are a joke. We went right on the floor with ease. Nothing was said to us when we went out or when we came back. Piss poor by you "fans" that didn't rush. That was rediculous.
  15. I know this sounds crazy coming from me, the biggest Nick Dials fan you'll ever meet, but you're right. With his knee he can't play the minutes a starter needs to. Anyone who has seen a game in the last month can see him fall off at the end of games. His shot isn't as crisp and he turns the ball over a lot. Secondly you can't take out Joyce. As someone else put it he is in charge of the offense. Neither Dials nor Ced can run the point as well as Joyce. Thirdly, no way can we run a three guard set. I seem to remember a "tired guards" thread a while back when we talked about how even in a two guard set our guards were getting worn out. Start Ced over Dials but give them about equal minutes and I think we're a better team.
  16. Actually Miami hockey also achieved a #1 ranking a few weeks back and I believe CMU wrestling also did. We were definitley the first though. correct my bad I meant to say first.
  17. Are you seriously gonna talk smack about the only MAC team, regardless of sport, to ever be ranked number one in the NATION!! Say what you will about soccer but that's pretty damn impressive.
  18. The simplest thing to do is have set chants for certain situations. Like when we're on defense after we score we jump and scream. If we don't score then we chant Z-Fence or somehting like that. I'm sure it will be awesome on Saturday and those F-ing golden showers won't stand a chance. GO ZIPS and
  19. Awesome game today, I think everyone can agree on that. I got to the game late because of a meeting and couldn't sit with the AK-Rowdies and as I watched I couldn't help but notice the north side is not loud at all. The few of you that sit over there and actually do scream and jump on D please call out the others. It was amazing how much of a difference the noise was the second half when they were on the south side. All I know is the Golden suck-offs better not be able to hear anything in that gym regardless of which end they're on. We need ALL AK-Rowdies to step up for that game.
  20. First of all I just transferred to Akron so F off. Secondly, if you want to bring recruiting into this tell me why Akron only goes after the OSU guys? There's a two-time all state quarterback from my high school that could easily jump into a slot receiver spot for the Zips, but did he once get a letter from Akron? Nope, Minnesota and Wisconsin thought he was good enough but not for Akron? Akron is a MAC school. So no, they are never going to compete for recruits with OSU, or any Big Ten school for that matter. If you're saying that then how can you like any college program. Stupid point, Akron needs to realize their role as a smaller program and go after the unrecruited guys. That's what mid level programs are supposed to do. I can't believe I have to defend being an OSU fan to a bunch of Ohioans. Either way...
  21. I'm REALLY glad i was wrong 15 points. Where you at OU fans!! Good prediction.
  22. Sorry to be this rude but you're an idiot. When do we "compete" with OSU for athletics? Other than soccer and maybe women's cross country or something the game would never be competitive. I personally am a football and basketball fan, so yeah I hope the Zips win those other sports and i was there cheering for the Zips against OSU in the soccer game, but being an OSU football and basketball fan is not "splitting loyalties". That's the most obsurd thing I've ever seen.
  23. AMAZING story, it was on Cold Pizza earlier today. Absolutely amazing.
  24. I guess you don't remember the San Juan Shootout, where the first two games he was 6 for 11 from three. In those two games he only played 22 and 23 minutesand scored 12 adn 15 points respectively. I'm just as pissed as anyone that he transferred but don't be an ignorant fan and say he wasn't good now that he's gone. Especially when almost all of the fans loved him when he was here. That's all I'm saying.F*CK OU and
  25. Holy shit, finely someone who knows what they are talking about. Well done Z-pouch. And in response to Dials being overrated, ARE YOU SERIOUS!! He plays fewer minutes than our ,hands down, stud Romeo Travis and has only 3 fewer points a game. Oh and by the way, HE TORE HIS ACL!! Anyone that can play with the intensity he does game in and game out after undergoining that kind of surgery is amazing. So before you call people overrated, think about all of the aspects of his game. Oh and by the way his FT% is in the top 50 in the nation. Players play roles and he's doing exactly what he should be so back off. And further about Bubba, I actually talked to him last night and asked him about his transfer and this is what he told me;"I could have stayed this year but coach has his "guys" and i wasnt one of them me and him werent the best of friends lets put it like that."So all of you keep the Bubba bashing to a minimum. Dambrot would never give him the playing time he deserved so you can't hate a guy for wanting to play.Oh and...
