The University of Akron tennis team will be in Buffalo, N.Y. this weekend to participate in the UB Invitational at the University at Buffalo. The three-day event will be held on both the outdoor and indoor courts at the UB Tennis Center and the Miller Tennis Center.

The Zips are set to host Ohio on Friday at 7 p.m., before challenging crosstown rival Can't, on Saturday at 5 p.m. The match against the Flashes has been designated as the Alumni Match for Zips Volleyball, and there will be an alumni reception following the contest.

The Zips women's soccer team continues on the road this weekend finishing up its four-game road trip at Northern Illinois and Western Michigan. Akron opens up against the Huskies in Dekalb, Ill. on Friday, Oct. 9, at 8 p.m. ET, before finishing their trip in Kalamazoo, Mich. squaring off against the Broncos at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, Oct. 11.

Midway through the final round, the University of Akron men’s golf team evened the scorecards with the University of Maryland, however the Terps were able to hold off the Zips for the 2015 Firestone Invitational championship. Maryland carded a team score of 284, 285, 287 – 856 (-8) while the host Zips earned runner-up with 290, 283, 285 – 858 (-6) tournament totals at the Firestone Country Club North Course.
