As for "expectations," difficult to surpass 17-1.  2 recruits from different schools in Westerville?

Tough to predict a record because I think this team could beat last year's team, but I think it's a tougher OOC schedule and the MAC is up a bit from last year.

I don't think anyone is arguing it wasn't a problem before, but it has grown worse. The average margin of victory this season is the largest it has been since at least 2000 based on what AI is telling me. Before if there were 4 or 5 games on TV at least 1, maybe two or 3 would be good. Now it's a struggle to find one game.

    Per the AP on 10/22/25:

In that first season of NIL in 2021-22, the margin of victory was 18 points for the Big Ten, 15.7 points for both the SEC and Pac-12, 15.2 for the Big 12 and 14.1 for the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Now the ACC has an average margin of 13 points per victory with the Big 12 at 14.5 points and the Big Ten at 15.5 points.

Not sure I agree with the bolded part.  In ten years at South Carolina and three at UMass, he has zero NCAA tournament appearances outside the 2017 Final Four run, and he he's 26 games under .500 in league play in those 13 years.

My feeling is, he gets more hype than others because he's a Bobby Knight-esque tough guy (minus serious transgressions like choking players).  A lot of people love that type, a lot of people hate that type, and so the media is eager to cover him; he drives eyeballs.

Besides the final four run is a heck of a qualifier - who else in the MAC has a final four run?

Classic Zips.  Do they not think a better connection with Akron football could have been facilitated by putting the kids in the Akron endzone and the kids interacting with Akron players?

That would be cool if the Akron players could have found the end zone

Sorry I'm a little behind, but does anyone know when/why the rest of the MAC games dates and times hasn't been released? This just seems completely ridiculous that 4 games officially have dates and times but the rest don't? And it seems to be this way across the NCAA ...

welcome to CFB in 2025, you'll find out about 10 days before kickoff for each game

I'm as much of a diehard as any Zip fan, but this is just delusional. You stand a better chance of building a fanbase by having a signature win in a season you go undefeated, than you do by playing Somebody-Nowhere-University. Remember Indiana University 4OT loss?

We beat Northwestern and NC State. No one gives a sht . Win more games

It's behind a paywall, but how does this make any sense? The Football Program doesn't cover costs, so if you're cutting "money games" you're cutting the ability to fund the program, and the University is in a debt crisis. How does this make ANY sense?

maybe they can try to win games and build a fanbase - we've tried the money game route for a long time and it appears it might not actually work

  8. it just needs adjusted. it's too hard to make moves once conference play starts, ie if your conference manages to get enough quad 1 teams in the OOC schedule, no one falls and the bottom teams have opportunities to move up. and vice versa, if the whole conference is quad 3 & 4, like the MAC, there's nowhere to go but down
