I want Akron to win as much as the next guy, but App State was a 1AA National Champion last year. See Montana State vs. Colorado. Amato brings his guys to play and so will J.D.

BETTER IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Go to game at Penn State.....or as my dad use to call it State Penn..........

I'm not kissing anyones butt, trust me..or don't. I'll be critical when it needs. But you really can't argue with GP1 statements. Nor can most departments of athletics. He says he's selling tickets you've got to admire that.I'll say that he does have better tact than I do. Brown Roo, I don't disagree with all your thoughts, I do believe you have good insight. However, I do lean towards his thoughts on this one. I am against, the name change of the student group. What M. Newhouse did for the Ak-ROWDIES was tremendous. I don't think it is necessary. I do believe that the person in charge will realize that sweeping changes do not need to be made.I am against having the golf outing on the same day, however, you can make both functions if you really want to. Is this different from last year's alumni day, no, not really. -

Finally a person with some reason! Thank you GP1!"If anyone tells you that going to a UofA game is too expensive, please do me a favor and tell that person they are full of crap. Then find out why they really don't want to go. Money should not be the issue unless the family is poor."I agree, if you're sour about not being able to park in a certain location, a football game should be the least of your worries.

Please read what I wrote....brown rooI'm stating that a guy came from a school with rich football tradition in the sense that people went despite the record or the opponent. Check out their record and then check out their attendance. they stunk, however they still had great crowds.. RICH FOOTBALL TRADITION IN THE SENSE THAT PEOPLE WENT DESPITE THE RECORD! don't skim a post without reading it fully.I completely agree with Charles you should call Kreger or Rhoades to find out the skinny. I doubt they will dodge your questions. Until then, relax. While you're talking to them find out how much money has been raised in the past year, compared to the past 4 years.I'm not here to argue with you all. I just want to you see the other side.

I'm not tearing down what Wad accomplished. I'm just pointing out that brown roo's statement doesn't hold any water. Sure Miami is a perennial power and in the hunt for a national title. But that doesn't guarantee folks coming to the game. You would think it does, but it doesn't. Their following is fair weather. On the flip side, Army could be playing the Missouri school for the dumb and deaf and still fill up their stadium. Why, tradition.. I'm stating that a guy came from a school with rich football tradition in the sense that people went despite the record or the opponent. Check out their record and then check out their attendance. they stunk, however they still had great crowds.. You can't say that just because he was from Miami that we'll get this... And I do think you can't say just because he came from Army, you're going to immediately fill the place either.I'm sorry for not explaining myself more thoroughly.

Thomas also brought Waddell in from Army. They had a stadium at capacity most every home game. Was that done here?

That won't happen. Which won't happen, Kreger being successful or keeping J.D. and Keith? If you don't think we have a chance to keep either then pack it in and nobody pays. We'll end up like Can't State. Someone, somewhere has to have the vision and the guts. I believe that the current admin. has it.They all are proven in their areas. Let them lead.Lead, follow, or get out of the way. you can get up off of your knees now This is what I wrote. This is what I wrote and I quote, "Folks this is the cost of building a successful promotion. I do agree that $525 is high, however, money is needed to be raised. I'd be in favor of a lower price. ....... It is Pat's job to make money, if he doesn't make money the athletics department can not and will not grow." At no point did I say it needed to be $525. I agree... $525 is too high...Brown Roo, that was an unjust comment. Every administration has faults, but the folks that are there now want to make money. Before it was all about getting folks to the game by any means necessary. To be honest, UA Athletics in particular a department gave a ton of tickets away and SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED the opportunity of fans that would purchase tickets. Why? Because they knew they could get free ones. I've over heard people say at games that they got tickets from some friend of the program who received STACKS of tickets to give away to lots and lots of games. What did that do for attendance?? not much. You talk about supply and demand, read the statement I just wrote. Tickets were like water the past 3-4 years. At least, athletics is trying to make some money for it. Which situation would you rather have... I didn't go to the Zips game because:A) I didn't have the extra $5, $10 etc.. to attend... (Price can be over come)or I didn't attend because I didn't get a free ticket.... (Expecting freebees is very hard to over come)B periodYou've got to make ticket revenue/donations somehow.

Folks this is the cost of building a successful promotion. I do agree that $525 is high, however, money is needed to be raised. I'd be in favor of a lower price. None of you can tell me that a season ticket over the past 3-4 years broke your bank. The price that was paid was next to nothing. Is that why you want Thomas and Waddell back? It's not going to happen and I think if you do your research, "they" will be doing the same exact thing at Cincinnati. It is my belief that anything was done to get folks in the stands and the money factor wasn't even in their heads. We the fans must be trained to pay more for excellence and for a new stadium. Do any of you honestly think that the ticket prices for the new stadium are going to be cheaper than they are now... not a chance. If you think it's over, then wait until basketball season with less than 5500 seats. I expect to see a PSL requirement to keep your tickets. It is Pat's job to make money, if he doesn't make money the athletics department can not and will not grow. How do you think we're going to keep J.D. and Keith???

You all are crazy! He was a G.A. at Akron...folks...He got a full time job! Do you want him to stay a G.A. forever! Get over yourselves... Ever think this, not a lot of people can get a full time job at a BCS school after one year as a Grad. Assistant. He did! Be happy that an Akron graduate 2 times over got a job in a very very competitive industry!I'm guessing he didn't get the job on his looks...He must have done something at Akron to warrant him going to FSU.
