  1. Nik's emotional game makes him great. Nik's emotional game makes him bad. The same thing that makes him good, is the same thing that gets him in trouble. It reminds me of Big Ben, he holds on to the ball forever, sometimes it turns into a big play for a TD, sometimes it turns into a sack. The same thing you love him for one minute, your cussing him out for the next. The one thing I would like to see Nik change about his game is the "flopping." He doesn't need to do it, he is a good defender. Square up and get your hands up, he'll have much more success. I trust that Nik will find an emotional balance sooner than later. He seems to be progressing to me.Nik getting mad when he got taken out of the game didn't bother me, I think the dude has more heart than most, and he wants to win more than most too. I did find it entertaining when Humpty come over to talk to him on the bench. That was cool.

  2. I was watching him be interviewed after the game. Before and after the interview, he stopped to shake hands with some OU fans congratulating / wishing him well. Maybe people he knew them from his southern Ohio days, who knows. Either way, it was a classy move.
I saw the same thing and thought the same. Thank you for turning it up at the right time last night Chris, I'll admit when he shot that three, I said no, no, no, no, YES!!!! That was one H#ll of a shot.
  3. Kool is one heck of a basketball player. He can play on my team any day. There is a certain future HOF coach that always says defense is easy, find out what the other team does, and take that away from them. We didn't do that last night and still won. Lucky, maybe, but I'll take it. GP1 is correct in another thread where he said if you look back on most championship teams, you will find luck involved. Now we need to focus on what OU does well, and take that away! You are one passionate fan GoZips. Enjoy tonight.

  4. Ask and ye shall receive. Enjoy!
My cell phone now rings "Gooooood, he hit it with sixth tenths of a second to go...Gooooood, he hit it with sixth tenths of a second to go...Gooooood, he hit it with sixth tenths of a second to go...Gooooood, he hit it with sixth tenths of a second to go..."
  5. Yesterday we had what should have been a classic match-up POY versus Defensive POY...why switch off throughout the game. Jimmy's job 1 yesterday should have been to shut down Kool. The day before it should have been to shut down Medlock. Today it should be to shut down Basset....I love Jimmy's all around game, but someone needs to check a guy who can almost single handedly beat us. Yesterday's game was driving me nuts.
Am I crazy, or did Brett McClanahan play better defense on Kool? I think Brett's defensive game has improved leaps and bounds from last year. He was focused again last night. I'm surprised he isn't getting more PT. Overall IMO we didn't defend Kool tight enough. We wouldn't pick him up until he crossed the three point line. When he didn't have the ball we would lay off him and try doubling down low. We should have had at least one person in his side pocket the whole game. If I coached that game Kool would have woke up very sore today.
  6. A certain number of players hate the coach regardless of who he is. Many of them are the type of player who thinks he is too good for UofA. A lot of haters probably had a free ride to the starting line-up.
I was talking to Jerry Olsavsky on the field at three rivers on draft day back when he was playing for the Steelers. Steelers were doing a meet and greet and I happened to be in town. It was the year they hired Bill Cowher. I asked him what the difference was between Chuck Noll and Bill Cowher, he looked me dead in the eye and said "they're both coaches, you hate them the same" Funny thing is, the Steelers just hired him to be a defensive assistant.

  8. My biggest hope is that Pittsburgh takes him in the 3rd or 4th round.
He'll be gone by the time the Steelers would entertain the thought of taking a QB. Steeler's have Dixon. Remember he almost beat the Ravens if it weren't for poor coaching last year. They have bigger needs than QB in the first 4 picks. If my NFL team needed a QB, I would be ecstatic to get Dan in the 4th round. If Batch doesn't return, they may take a late rounder on a QB, but I doubt it.
  9. Can KD install the Princeton Offense in less than a week? I think that would be highly effective against K.e.n.t.
Per the coaching staff, we run a combination of different offenses.Do we already have an offense that can beat Ken+ and we just aren't using it enough? Effective yes, I know. What (part of our) offense was effective against them? Since I am pretty ignorant when it comes to these type of questions, I'll go another route. One thing that I did see that was effective against Ken+ this last game was when Nic was driving the lane. He has the ability to do that and it is a great way to try to get Ken+ into foul trouble. If you can get Singletary in foul trouble early and in his head, you might be able to get them out of there game. He seems like a pretty emotional player. That and zone D are the only two things I can come up with. I'm not sure the zone D would work on them, but I would sure as 'el try it.
