  1. I hear he might become an assistant at Jacksonville University
  2. They probably booted your because they knew you were right.
  3. Kangaroo not a bird I know those animals look alike it's easily to get them confused. You might be shocked as how well the Zips perform against PSU. They may not kill them but I think it will be a good game.
  4. The Beacon covers men's basketball quite often.
  5. If you are looking for something fast and good Swensons is awesome! You don't have to get out of your car. Belgrades is good but I don't know exactly how close that is. Luigi's has been a favorite of mine and Spaghetti Warehouse is awesome as well.
  6. This article brought to you by gozips.com Akron Athletics To Launch Frye's Heisman Web Site www.Frye2004.com, which is dedicated to the Zips' quarterback, will be unveiled tomorrow. July 14, 2004 AKRON, Ohio - The University of Akron will officially launch a new web site Thursday afternoon dedicated to the exploits of senior quarterback Charlie Frye (Willard, Ohio/Willard HS), the first-ever Heisman Trophy candidate in school history. Akron fans and media are encouraged to visit www.Frye2004.com throughout the 2004 season for the latest press releases, statistics and fun facts about the record-setting signal-caller. The web site will take a behind-the-scenes look at Frye in his final season in blue and gold. "It's exciting to be mentioned for such a prestigious award," Frye said of the Heisman Trophy. "We've had some great quarterbacks come through this league and it's nice to be included in that group." "However, the most important thing for me this season is team success. We have a lot of seniors (on the team), guys I came in with, and we want to go out on a winning note." The 6-foot-4, 228-pounder is coming off the best season in Akron history, and one of the best on Mid-American Conference record. He set the UA single-season passing yards record with 3,549, and eclipsed the school mark for career passing yards (8,426) before the end of his junior year. Both of those marks rank eighth all-time in MAC history. Frye ended the 2003 campaign in possession of 49 school records. Frye, who was named to the watch list for the 2004 Davey O'Brien Award earlier this week, is among the top returning signal-callers in the nation. His 319.8 yards of total offense in 2003 ranks No. 1 nationally among returning players, while his pass efficiency rating of 148.6 is seventh among returning quarterbacks. Frye is on pace to break Byron Leftwich's conference records for career passing yards and total offense. He needs 3,478 passing yards and 3,224 yards of total offense in 2004 to snap the former Marshall quarterback's records. Frye and the Zips open preseason practice on Aug. 11 in preparation for the 2004 season opener on Sept. 4 at Penn State.
  7. Do you know if the Dayton game will be in Dayton or in Akron?
  8. Just out of curiosity if someone was going to transfer to another school to play basketball shouldn't that player play in the summer league or something for the school they are considering?
  9. Hmm Women's Basketball? They are getting better though I believe.
  10. I think the men's soccer team does pretty well. They went to the NCAA this year.
  11. I think the roster looks pretty good. Walther I hope will gain more weight so he doesn't get shoved around left and right all the time. I think McFadden will have a good senior year. I think it'll be a good season.
  12. Where did you hear he was going to play at Capital
  13. Let me reword that a little. Some people thought that since Dan helped out Pat when Bobby lost his job that Bobby would help out Dan when he lost his job. Now that it is possible that Bobby might move to Columbus do you still think it could still happen? Do any of you think OSU will take Bob Knight?
  14. Do you think that if Bob Knight comes to Columbus will he still consider Dan as a possible assistant coach candidate?
  15. Well maybe Dan is going somewhere since he is putting his house up for sale and all. Andy is looking to go to graduate school. Maybe Bryan will stay and be on the team.
  16. Make sure your jersey has the right number because I doubt he will wearing a #11 or #1
  17. This may seem like a dumb question but does UA have a work out facility for all students?
  18. Umm? I said after going to high school with AJ Trapasso...AJ went to Pickerington...and that isn't in Sandusky...so therefore since AJ went to Pickerington............I DID AS WELL....
  19. After going to high school with AJ I am not shocked at all. He is a really smart kid but does stupid things and I am sure it'll happen many more times other than this.
  20. OSU Football Player Arrested Second Time On Drinking Charge Trapasso Charged Monday Near Sandusky UPDATED: 8:40 AM EDT May 19, 2004 COLUMBUS, Ohio -- An Ohio State punter has been arrested for the second time in less than a month on a charge of underage drinking. Football coach Jim Tressel said Tuesday he still was gathering information about the Monday incident in Perkins Township near Sandusky involving Albert J. (A.J.) Trapasso and has not decided on any potential action or discipline. Details of the incident were not available from police. Trapasso, 18, of Pickerington, was arrested on the same charge in Columbus on April 25. "The thing that bothers me most is it is the same allegation," Tressel said. "That jumps out at me. What concerns me is it involves alcohol, and we have to attack it for (Trapasso's) sake because that obviously is and can be a serious issue and problem." Trapasso's attorney entered a plea of innocent to the April 25 charge and requested a jury trial. A pretrial hearing is set for June 7. The lawyer, Steve Brown, said Trapasso likely will pay a fine by mail for the Sandusky charge.
  21. I agree if men and women can fight at 18 they should be able to drink at 18. I dont think he'll be kicked off the team players have done worse than what he has done and a lot of people do it who play sports he just did it in public which was dumb. I hope he gets to see some playing time after what I've seen him done at Pickerington he can do a lot more at Ohio State
  22. He was like that in high school too. Apparently he wasn't all there during a playoff game last year. He is a great football player really fast. He'll be a good addition to the team despite his drinking issues. Maybe Jack Johnson will keep tabs on him.
  23. Wow that would be pretty cool. Why is the other assistant coach leaving?
  24. The Lady Zips are improving not rapidly but they are improving. He won't let her go yet. I am sure KD will be a good coach the players seem to like him and maybe they'll listen to him.
