  1. Very well written. the final paragraph really sums up everything we as a conference ask when we go into these death-trap games

We aren’t asking you to fear us. Just respect us as an opponent that is going to work hard. We want you to realize that Scout and Rivals don’t get ‘em all right and we do have some players who could play for you. The NFL believes we do. We’re just living the dream of trying to be better today than we were yesterday. Why that causes scorn I don’t understand, but we aren’t going to back down and play the patsy no matter how much money you pay us.
  2. Going through my pre-Game Tailgating checklist. It's been a while since I've really needed it. Moved from Michigan about 2 years ago and most of my stuff was in storage or the kids prevented the tailgating. Listening to the University of Akron Marching Band on my Ipod while digging through boxes in the basement....AWESOME! I am so pumped right now! I'll get the final stuff at Giant Eagle tomorrow, and be ready to ROLL early on Saturday Morning! Plan to roll into Lot 34 around 9:00 AM. Probably won't be the first one there....hopefully I can get a spot!
wanna hook us up with the files? I need some good UA band music for me to jam! hahaha
  3. We need a thread just for last minute tailgating related things and questions. Where is everyone planning on setting up? What will you be cooking? What will you be drinking? Also, what is the final word on alcohol? I have a keg already bought, is it allowed or what?
I believe that the consumption of alcohol is fine as long as you are of age. I was told by a close friend who has spoken to the police cheif and the word is that if the cops partrolling see alcohol, they will come over and make sure everyone in the area is of age. I could be wrong, but this generally seems like the practice that they will be enforcing. If you're underage... youll have to get a little more creative.
  4. The image is graphic arts .. not a production blue print. Count the loges .. it's different. The goal of the item was to show how things are laid out .. not the specific details. It's a great piece .. but nothing to get concerned about if you don't see a trash can or something.Go Zips!!!
HOW IN THE WORLD AM I GOING TO THROW OUT MY GARBAGE IF I DONT KNOW WHERE THE CANS ARE?!?!?!?!?!:lol:
  5. As far as the camera angles go, a consultant from ESPN designed the layout. So whatever ESPN wanted, ESPN got. Can't do any better than how the Info is layed out for television.
Yup. I believe the pdf file that had the detailed breakdown of the info was done incorrectly. If you look at the webcams, you can clearly see 3 sets of small windows on the 7th floor. These are, presumably, where TV broadcasting and TV cameras will be placed for the broadcasts, so I believe what the pdf file is saying is an additional radio booth is actually the 3rd press tower camera spot. If we brought in ESPN to put the cameras in the best places for broadcasts, you're pretty well guaranteed it was done right.
  6. They were able to get me 1 row behind the seats I choose earlier this year. Now I am on the aisle and very satisfied with the result. They even sent a hand written note with the tickets in the mail. Nice customer service :thumb:
Good luck. UofA has been doing a good job of taking care of those of us who have had ticket issues so hopefully you will come out pleased, I know I did!
customer service? from UA? Nahhhh couldnt be ;)
  7. Rasor just posted this... LOTS of good infohttp://www.ohiomm.com/blogs/zips/2009/09/s...cision-stadium/definitely check this out if you want loads of more info on the... info :Dhttp://media.ohio.com/documents/uastadium.pdf
Great stuff. Interesting to note that on the graphic it states that the hillside seating in the south end zone will be "only used when all other seating is sold."
I thought it was stated a while ago that the hillside would only be used for overflow in case of sellouts. I also believe the hillside is reserved for student overflow. At least that's what I thouht...
  8. Not only does the gameday experience need to be something that will get the fairweather fan excited... but this ENTIRE week needs to be a bombardment of excitement on campus. I fully expect to show up for class tomorrow morning beginning to be feel the buzz on campus. I expect to see signs and announcements everywhere. I want students to know this is going on and I want them all excited to be there.

  9. I am going to hold off on any opinions on JD until our next game. We're playing a team next week that we should crush the same way we were crushed by PSU. If anything less than a double digit victory is on the scoreboard saturday evening, I will have serious doubts about JD making it past this year.

  10. I got my wristband the first day they started offering them and I also bought a GA ticket for my girlfriend who is coming from MSU to waatch the game. Is there any way I could sneak her into the student section? I know no one has any idea what the security is going to be like but I really want her to be able to cheer with us and the ROWDIES.
I think i remember reading students are able to purchase up to 2 tickets per game for friends to sit with them in the student section. Dont quote me on this, but i distinctly remember reading that, probably on the gameday central site.
  11. Coming out of this game comes 2 simple questions:1) Can the defense maintain the level of play it put on the field today throughout the season2) Can the offense build from what little confidence it gained in the second half today? For once in my time as a zips fan I was actually proud of our defense.

  12. ...and so far no complaining in the article!! I'm proud of you guys :P They also stated that taped bands will be accepted, which is good news for the 3800/4000 fans who cut it off. Lets keep it goin guys!! Time to get those tickets
I am glad they are at least doing that.
