  1. Teams have tried it all season and in their WPIAL Class AAAA first-round game against McKeesport Area, North Allegheny was no different. Forwards Jeff Haus and Stephane Batton brutalized McKeesport center Zeke Marshall all day Saturday at Fox Chapel - double teaming, holding, trash talking and even striking the 7-footer in the crotch on an inbounds play late in the game.Marshall and the Tigers took the abuse in stride and emerged with a 52-38 dismantling of North Allegheny."Every game we play is a hard-fought game," McKeesport junior guard Ty-Meer Brown said. "We're a physical team as well. So any team that wants to play physical we can do that, any game. Zeke played an amazing game. Like Coach (Corey Gadson) said, big players step up in big games. That's what he did today."Brown and Marshall paced McKeesport (14-9) with 16 points each, while guard Sam Gooden scored eight.Marshall made the difference against North Allegheny (14-9). Guard Nick Dvorsky scored 13 points in defeat, but Haus and Batton combined for just 17 points."This is the first time he just really came out and just said, you know, 'I am going to go out and make the game,'" Gadson said. "That's what he did. He dominated inside and they really had no answer for him. I've seen him (do that) in other games, but today with so much at stake was impressive."Sixth-seeded McKeesport advances to face No. 3 Mt. Lebanon, a 60-45 winner over Kiski Area, this weekend. The Blue Devils (19-4) shared the Section 4-AAAA title with Peters Township
Sounds like Zeke is getting ready for the MAC. The only difference is, in the MAC after getting hit in the crotch, he will be called for charging.
How about that FOOLISHNESS!! It would probably happen too. Zeke was PISSED OFF after that..because it was done deliberately..they better be glad I'm a CHRISTIAN mother because I started to run on that court, slap the kid and then call him a HOMO!! LOL:) (no offense to anyone on this board who lives an "alternative" lifestyle!!) ;)
Best of luck against Mt. Lebanon Lets go Zeke!
  2. You have to go to the 2nd tiebreaker for Akron and Miami since they are 1-1 against each other, both have a loss to Buffalo so that is even, Can't and BGSU would be considered a unit, both Miami and UA are 2-0 against them so you'd go down to the Ohio-WMU-Ball State Triad where UA and Miami are both 2-1, so we'd go all the way down to CMU where Miami lost and UA won, so I think the seedings above are correct (except BGSU and Can't would need to be switched) for the next two days at least. :) Also remember that BGSU holds a huge tiebreaker by beating Buffalo twice but they are in a big hole already so we really need to beat them again so that tiebreaker doesn't come into effect (especially if we all end up being tied with Buffalo). Or the "easier" route - win all four MAC games left and we're :champs:.
I like the last sentence best
  3. This would be a good game to play McClanahan long minutes and run a lot of the offense through him. He still only has 11 games of college experience, and needs more seasoning if we expect him to be a factor in the MAC tournament, where the Zips will need all the firepower they can muster.
This is a game that we should use to build a bit more depth going into the last stretch of tough games and the tournament. They had better take this game seriously, though. Not because because of who we're playing, but because of who we play after them. This team needs to have confidence going to Buffalo.
I think that while the starters may remain the same, coach will do a lot more to mix in some of the other guys. The point is to peak at just the right time...Might end up being a showdown on a certain last game of the year.
  4. After a cold shower at NIU I'm less than confident with any road performance. At the same time, however, Akron (58.9 Points allowed and 67.2 Points scored) should be the better team against Valparaiso (65.4 Points allowed and 60.7 points scored). In addition, the confidence should be high after a good win against a solid Miami (OH) team. I'll take the zips in a close one, with the zips leading for the majority. Akron- 64Valparaiso- 59
