  1. Yeah, I've never believed in that theory. If you are the better team, you are the better team! I am more confident about playing OU in the final having already beat them twice, than if we would have split the first two. But, first things first, let's extend the streak to 20 tonight!
  2. Princeton takes down Harvard tonight. Princeton's RPI was 121 and Harvard was top 100. Can Princeton get in the top 100, if they win out? Another top 100 win can't hurt.
  3. Well we gave up a few more points than I thought, but if my math is correct we outscored our opponents 91-44 in the last 4ish minutes of those games. Pretty impressive!
  4. I saw the KD sprint (I've never seen him move so fast) after the 3 before the buzzer. He ran right up to Walsh and it looked like he was screaming at Brian as far as I could tell. Clearly somebody screwed up and left Kraus wide open and coach was not happy about it. As far as the end of games, I'm not sure if it is possible but it would be interesting to see the points scored by the Zips and their opponents the last 4 minutes of games. Maybe one of the stat freaks, I mean that in a good way, could find something. But teams just haven't scored anything the last couple minutes games during this streak. Great crowd last night, good to see people jumping on the bandwagon. 17 and counting...
  5. Looks like a must win tonight if we want any chance at a first round bye. Let's hope we see the good Zips again this evening!!
  6. Truly amazing!! The last 10 minutes were the longest 10 minutes of my life. A few seconds of terror, but they hung on! Congrats to the team. What an incredible achievement. Great to see so many people at the Barley House. The I believe chant after the game was awesome! National freaking Champs!!!
  7. Good stuff Zipboy. I do love that KD tells it like it is and doesn't give you the typical coachspeak. A couple thoughts on this stuff: If KD plans on giving this fourth player a lot of minutes, that really sounds like a JUCO transfer to me. If he plans on playing Brett and Nik at the 3, then he clearly expects one or two of Egner, Green or Euton to play the 4. If we have Nik at the 3, another 6'7-6'8 guy at the 4, Zeke in the middle and Nitro or another big guard at the 2 that is a big lineup. I love the name Kofi Mensa! I am a little concerned about the "personnel issues" comment. Clearly, 2 guys are gonna be gone next year. Sweich and Sullivan seem like the most likely candidates, but that comment makes me concerned it could be one of the rotation guys? It was a decent season, but we never won a game we weren't supposed to win. Hopefully, KD can retool things a little and the program takes a big step forward next year.
  8. I'll take a pass on the 3 pointer debate. There is one thing that all 3 of the mid-major teams in the sweet 16 have in common. I agree with those that don't count Butler as a mid-major. They were in the top 20 and no one is surprised they are in the sweet 16. As far as Cornell, St. Mary's and No. Iowa, all 3 teams have very good, senior, 7 foot Centers. KD has been saying for a while if you want to win a game or two in the tourney, you need a good big man. I think this year clearly illustrates that point. I'll admit I never heard of Omar Samhan before last week, but he dominated Villanova! Hopefully, this points to good thinks in the future for the Zips!
  9. i wont agree that "he can't be anymore excited".Why not? He said it twice, what more do you need?
  10. Hopefully, he can cherry pick some of the good coaches from ND's staff (offense only) since they are probably all looking for jobs. I'd love to see them hit the ground running and lock up a great recruiting class. I, like many others on here, never heard of the guy before yesterday, but I'm going to stay positive and hope TW made the right choice.
  11. Clearly this is the most important decision TW will make here. So I'm sure he did his due diligence. He must believe this is the best man for the job. If Ianello is the guy we need to support the choice, but man that resume is eerily familiar...
  12. The more I think about it, the more I want someone with some head coaching experience. We've been ranked at the top of the MAC the past few seasons in recruiting and how has that worked out? We need more than a great recruiter.
  13. Good analysis. I agree with most of your points. Definitely Conyers' best game as a Zip. Solid win over a good team and Humpty and the McKnights had a rough day. McNees was also very good today. He doesn't force shots, really seems to do a good job running the point and when he's on watch out! Let's hope they can keep it going...
  14. The Good news--SI picked Akron to win the MAC and make the tourney. The Bad news--They called us the "flushes"...OUCH!! We still haven't quite made it...54. Akron MAC 4 F Brett McKnight, who led the flushes in scoring as a reserve, joins four starters back from a team that held opponents to 29.1% from the arcRead more: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/bask...p#ixzz0XFMWA0LO Get a free NFL Team Jacket and Tee with SI Subscription
