  1. I know most of you guys agree to disregard stars and are looking at other scholarships some recruits are getting, but do you remember how many DI offers Brian Wagner had out of high school? He had just one to Akron. He turned out pretty good after a redshirt year.
  2. Here is a link to the timeline of the events: http://theozone.net/football/2010/SugarBowl/NCAAtimeline.htm
  3. 91 yard touchdown by Alex Allen!! 14-10 Zips
  4. Losing control of a team that has won six straight games? Hmmm. Read the reports on this incident and you will learn that Courtside is a pizza place that serves beer. Boo was inside when the bouncer started to beat up his brother (not an OU student) outside. Boo went outside to pull the bouncer off his brother and was sucker punched by a bouncer who came from across the street. Hardly a case of an "out of control" team. BTW, take a look at the comparative graduation rates of Solich and Akron's previous regime and you will see that Frankie is doing just fine. He's a great coach. First of all, yes Courtside is a pizza place, but it is also one of the major bars on campus. It is always packed on the weekends with usually a line outside the door. Secondly, from the first reports about the story, the football team started the scuffle. I am not sure how or by who knocked Boo Jackson out, but football players (ones who were underage or did not have IDs) were not going to be let in the bar and bum-rushed the door. Courtside bouncers and bartenders jumped in and an OU player threw the first punch. I would get some of your facts straight.
  5. Your probably right. The Big Ten is the national joke and tOSU is just the punchline. You hear a lot about the Big Ten because you live in the midwest. It is laughed at by the remainder of the country. Unfortunately, the media has to talk about it and since tOSU is the top team in that horrible conference, they get most of the media play.I totally agree with this post.So what are the actual possibilities?Ed Warinner - OC at KansasLuke Fickell - Co-DC at tOSU^^^ Top two choices?Mark Stoops? - DC at ArizonaPaul Winters? - Wayne St. HCFrank Cignetti? - OC at PittWhy aren't coaches like:Matt Eberflus, DC at Mizzou, Went to Toledo, also coached at UT from 1994-2000Darrell Hazell, Ass. HC and WR Coach at tOSUJeff Mullen - OC at West Virgniabeing looked at?
  6. Any underclassman have a chance to get drafted in 1-3 years?
  7. Phil Steele release his All MAC 1st-3rd Teams.http://www.philsteele.com/fbsinfo/FBSAllCo...AC_postssn.htmlBrian Wagner also made Phil Steele's 2nd Team All Freshman Team. Some Zips faired a little better on this list based more on stats accumulative compared to the thoughts of the media members around the conference.
  8. Thoughts?Of the coordinators on the various lists, I like his resume. I believe he got his masters at UA and was a play caller for several years...Also, not coming from a major BCS program, but a BCS program is who I want, if you go the coordinator route. What is all the talk about the tosu coordinator? He has great defenses against the MAC, New Mexico State and YSU...His defense generally gets schredded vs. the Florida's, LSU's, and USC's....Luke Fickell was not the defensive coordinator when tOSU lost to Florida or LSU. He is actually the co-defensive coordinator with Heacock who was the only D Coordinator in those big games. OSU's defense this year reminds me of the defenses led by MSU head coach Dantonio when he was the D coordinator at OSU back in the early 2000s. They just punish people. I think OSU will surprise people against Oregon.Anyways. I think Akron will be well off with either Warinner or Fickell. I mean you have a budding star on defense with Wagner and Nicely played decently in the last couple games. With the way Warinner developed Todd Reesing's game at Kansas, I would lean that way since the offense needs lots of help to improve from their performance on the field.
