Completley agree. He should be given the chance in this position. After all this is where he played when he got all his awards last season.

I honestly believe that Holmes is our best player but has been seriously restricted this season by Caleb. To say he has still made the MAC 11 team but has not been allowed to play speaks volumes. Yes Mattocks is good but he gets enough chances and game play so he should score all the goals. I agree with Ando, Holmes should be put in the hole behind Mattocks and given a free role. I watched a few games he played last year for the Falcons. Yes the opposition was not as good but believe me he is a great player. He seemed to link very well with a player called Mellor who made sure Holmes was on the ball a lot and he sure did run the game. Yes Porter is a great coach but I seriously am questioning his decision making at times. He made over 23 substitutions in one game this year and changed Holmes at least four times. How can you expect the guy to perform changing him that many times???? He is keeping the team to rigid this year and not letting players express themselves. Again Holmes was our best player on Friday playing on the left. Scotty should be moved further back to a defensive midfield position and Holmes moved central in the hole.

You might try Big10 website. Bisbee, you have not been around the last 5 years. I have not seen a Zips team this confused during Porter's tenure. I have seen teams less talented, but not this disoriented. Lesser Porter teams played with cohesion and purpose not evident on this squad. I am very worried. NU looked really good on TV vs. PSU (Big10 Championship). Should Zips get this one, who knows, they may tear off a streak. But this is the match that troubles me. It seems to me that the last four games also were greatly affected by tinkering with the lineup much more than prior to the wake game. I think now that hopefully Porter has things set we see the Zips perform at a much higher level. I think main problem with the offense is that we try way too much to finesse the ball through the middle rather than playing from side to side forcing the defense to spread out to cover the wings. I can't truly write what i think the problems are because i have a player on the team :) I think we need to let Holmes get on the ball to feed Mattocks, that is going to be the key, this tactic may even let Holmes push on forward in the hole and do what he does best......open defence's up and do some serious damage! I agree....Holmes needs to be allowed to express himself and play in the hole. If he is allowed to do this he will destroy teams....!
