I don't want to be rude, but in the newspaper business we live in a day and age - especially sports - that there are times that reporters HAVE to cover a topic not on their assigned beat. Stephanie Storm, the normal Flashes writer, was busy with NFL Draft stuff along with the Akron Aeros. Once Zips baseball ended I had a little bit of track to cover and I got Can't baseball which quickly became a national story, like it or not. I get paid to write. Period. My guess is that most here would not like the college team that I support. But here's my philosophy regarding covering a beat: I can like the people - be they player, coach or affiliated staff member - but I try to avoid showing any bias in my reporting. Bottom line: I write what I'm assigned.

Yes, they did. No one at UA is tipping their hand on anything related to sports beyond the here and now. But personally, I think there are those in the know and who have power who are looking beyond the MAC. I think they are desperate to have football succeed so they can justify a move to a more prestigious conference. That, for the record, is my opinion.

On their list of top returnees, I've only seen a few (Moore, Chisholm, Gillmer) get any significant playing time. Perhaps I overlooked them. Then again, I was able to pick Presley out on the first day...

He could be right. I can only go by what Keith told me, but I have little reason to believe he'd lie to me. He never has before. But whether he was offered the job or not is an issue of semantics. He still said NO.
