I know you guys think I'm being negative but this is a waste of a scholarship. We have much greater needs then QB. This is a small school QB and his numbers were not that impressive. Come on TB. We know you can do better then this
-
once again I ask the question " how many RB's do we have on scholarship?". Unless this kid is unbelievable this get is a waste of a good scholarship. It wont be long before we have more running backs on scholarship then lineman or DB's. What is going on?

I'm not sure what Kangaroo was watching. Pohl was terrible. He locked in early on his receivers and was late on most of his throws. He didnt look very mobile either. I hope we see some vast improvements or we are in for a long year at QB. I thought Pratt was not good either. Very inconsistent. most of the time he didn't look like he was putting in much effort Wolf out shined all of the WR's by a mile. If this is a glimpse into what the future holds we are in good shape. We have him for 4 more years if we can find someone to throw the ball Woodson was awful and the notion of moving him anywhere that requires any speed is funny. He is one of the few skill position players that you see with a lineman's gut. As bad as he was he looked like he belonged in the NFL compared to the young Hoyer.....Yikes! Okafor was a beast! I hope we see a whole bunch more of that MTB continues to drop balls and under impress. It's time that we start playing players because of their play on the field and not how much they run their mouth. I think he had a dozen catches last year and probably at least that many drops. Make him earn it Hundley was unimpressive. I though Jones looked much better. That being said Chisolm was by far the best ball carrier on the day. Is he in the doghouse? I dont understand why you run a continuous clock in the second half. It was a gorgeous day and you're taking away valuable time from young players. That doesn't make any sense. If you don't p[lay these young guys how will anyone prove themselves? Here's a question for anyone that can answer? How many RB's do we have on scholarship. I read that the kid from Wadsworth was given a scholarship Chisholm, Hundley, Lawrence, Morgan, Lauro and the kid from Wadsworth. Is Jones on Scholarship? Why so many RB's on scholarship?

I heard Chambers transferred to Howard

It will be really interesting to see how many of last years freshman actually red shirted. I dont remember most of them ever seeing any time. I'm pretty sure Tommy Woodson never went in to a game. Do you guys think they'll use Lauro as a receiver? He sure looks like a running back
-
You listed Berger as an OL. He's a WR I think Wolf, Hauser, Allen, Kish, Berger and Guiser are all RS Freshmen for sure. I'm not sure about the rest. I also heard Gotto and Easton were both transferring
-
Here's a few that it looks like you missed. Unless they are no longer with the team. It also looks like you have some graduating classes wrong on several players. I dont remember a lot of last years Freshman class playing. I would assume most of them will be Red Shirt Freshman this year WR - Brady Berger - (RS) Freshman or Sophomore K - Robert Stein - Jr DL - Nmesoma Okafor - Sr S - Devonte Morgan - Sr Thanks for the update

Rumor has it they are going to have black in them. The word I heard was that Tank wanted black and they're doing it to honor him. I dont know if that's true

Some interesting conversations taking place about our " grey shirt" recruit on the Wayne County football blog http://www.ohiochatter.com/forum/showthread.php?37880-2013-Wayne-County-Athletic-League-Football&p=1579102#post1579102 -

Looking back on last years roster we had a ton of WR's. ...I think 19. We are only losing a few and most of the production from last year is back. If we can find a QB to get them the ball I think we'll be fine. MTB is overrated. I was not impressed last year at all. He had several drops on easy balls and he did nothing with the ball after he caught it. I really never saw what people were so excited about to begin with. -

If you're talking about Philips he was on the team last year. He'll be senior this year. It was a waste of a scholarship. Are we actually planning on playing Laura at WR? He sure doesn't look like one -

No wide receivers or running backs in this class (except for Lauro). We must feel like we already have the tools in house on the offensive side of the ball -

His academics are fine. Word is his dad's buddies with one of the Akron coaches. They gave him the "offer" to try to generate interest from other schools. It all blew up in the Wayne county area and in his face. It got so bad a kid on his team wrote a nasty poem about him and his dad (the coach). It ended up on national television. They both quit before the end of the season. Akron is now listing him as a greyshirt to save the kid and his family the embarrassment in the community. The whole thing is a joke -

This "commitment" has stunk from the beginning. Dennis will never play for us and I would doubt that he ever actually gets a scholarship. -

Let's get real. This list is very slim. We don't have many commits and most of them have only been offered by Akron. We're talking about 8 guys on this list. One guys a long snapper and the Dennis kid from Rittman is a joke. He is completely incapable of playing ball at this level.....or any level. I think Kincade, Boxen, Williams and Willingham are good gets. I think Junius is talented but undersized. I pray there is a lot more to this list then we're seeing. CB Kris Givens, Holmes Community College, Goodman, MS CB Bernard Willingham, Glades Central HS, Belle Glade, FL DE Brock Boxen, Beaver Falls HS, Beaver Falls, PA QB Chandler Kincade, Blackhawk HS, Beaver Falls, PA LS Hayden Grover, Spencer-Van Etten HS, Spencer, NY ATH Blake Dennis, Rittman HS, Rittman, OH LB Travonte Junius, St. Vincent-St. Mary HS, Akron, OH LB Newman Williams, St. Vincent-St.Mary HS, Akron, OH -

This kid is 5' 11- 177 lbs and barely runs under a 4.8. How is this kid going to help us? Our roster is full of kids that are better then this kid. Did somebody mention Blake Dennis again? I thought everyone on this site had already run that kid through the wringer. Go back and watch his highlight film again. We need to bring in some real WR's. -
Zips look to strengthen STVM pipeline

I saw Ferns play twice last year. I was not impressed on either occasion. He got beat up in both games. Neither opponent ran away from him in fact they ran right at him alot. He definitely looks the part but I dont see him playing at that level. -
Unless the kid is an absolute Phenom, offering kids that are freshman is crazy.
-
I agree with a lot of the things being said but certainly not all. The criticism of Bickley is unfair. He's not doing the play calling the coaches are. I do think they are trying to use him in the wrong situations. He is the type of player that you need to get out in space. Using him in goal line situations is not smart. That's when we need to bring in bigger possesion type WR's. Does anyone else think we rotate to many WR's? I understand with the fast pace and different formations we need to stay fresh but getting 5 catches in a game in this offense is a lot. I think we need to get the ball in the hot hands more often. I'm not impressed with several of the guys we're rotating. In my opinion we also should have red shirted MTB. He's definitely not panning out. We obviously red shirted Wolf. I dont see how he could have been any worse then a few of the guys we're playing
-
I noticed that Wolf didnt get any PT on Saturday either. They must be planning on red shirting him also. He and Berger stood beside each other on the sideline Saturday for most of the game. I sat beside a guy who's kids go to the same school that he played for. The guy seemed to know a lot about him. The rumor at Norwayne is that Berger might be heading to another MAC school to play football next year. Supposedly there are a couple schools interested in giving him a scholarship. If he's not on scholarship at Akron can he transfer and play next year for another MAC school?
