  1. No, it meant that they were so horrible that even the usual customary favoritism couldn't help them. Now how about focusing on the Zips, instead of feeling compelled to respond to every post from people making fun of a certain competitor of ours?
  2. Yurachek is going to have a flashback when he sees the Zips marching into town.
  3. I agree. There won't be a home game. And if last year's #34 RPI got us a 6 Seed, expect the same or worse this year with a #52 RPI. And to your point, did anyone else see them talking about Syracuse as if they barely missed the NCAA? They had an #84 RPI. Give me a break. That demonstrates your point quite well.
  4. Yes, be careful what you wish for, indeed. http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/bulls/usf-may-be-targeting-lebron-james-prep-coach/2316297
  5. Got it. I share your disappointment today. Trust me.
  6. I already talked about what I think happened with Kwan, at length. And I think we gave up some scoring at times late in the season to try to shore up our defense. But going back to the beginning of February, we still scored over 70 point 8 times, and had games in the 80's, including road games at EMU and Buffalo.
  7. 1) You don't follow college basketball very well if you believe that the NIT Champ is the 69th best team in the nation. 2) An NIT Championship would be absolutely incredible for this program. Unlikely, but incredible.
  8. Bound to happen? It's a reality for many schools in our league right now, and we've been there ourselves. We went from 1992 to 2004 with ONE MAC tournament win. No, not a title win. Winning ONE SINGLE game....total...in all of those MAC Tourney appearances. So, for all of the schools who have done nothing in the MAC Tournament over the period where we've had the most title game appearances (9) and most titles (3), we can only feel so fortunate that we're not in their shoes.
  9. Looking back 10 years, I had my heartaches with the banked-in 3-pointer against Miami, and the OT loss to OU in 2010, and the OU game in 2012 where the Bobcat rebounder grabbed the rim at the end on the missed free throw and was never assessed a Technical and is un-reviewable. But we all have to live with what happened last year and this year. We simply got BEAT.
  10. Maybe not the appropriate thread, but here goes.... Next year is pretty simple. The entire season rests on the group consisting of Poke, Aaron, Michael, and Daniel to fill 2 front court spots adequately enough to be able to rest on our enormous reservoir of Guard experience to carry us. That's it. That's the season preview for next year. And judging by the amount of minutes that most of them were entrusted with this year, they have a lot of work to do between now and November to perform those roles adequately enough.
  11. At this point, the players should be happy that the overall performance in conference play this year earned you a chance to continue to play in the 2nd best tournament. If you don't like it, you ought to think about doing more to make a difference in a game for all the marbles against a #6 seed. Or the previous group of late season losses that cost you any other opportunity to do something about it.
  12. Help me out here, so that you aren't exaggerating to prove a point. Other than a random Sportswriter who mentioned his name in a list of people that he thought could be candidates for the YSU job, where is there any evidence anywhere that he's a candidate for any job, and when did this suddenly become "several schools"?
  13. I'm glad someone brought this up. He was clearly the guy who was saving our A$$ in the Spot-Up 3-Point Shooting Dept. in those two games. In fact, I'll say that we could have gotten beaten by EMU, and could have gotten blown out last night, if he didn't come through for us with some clutch shots.
  14. 1. You can say he's not good at it. That's your opinion. But you don't know basketball if you think you were seeing everything the same all the time. 2. Playing in more close games doesn't mean you aren't having a record year offensively.
  15. Lets be clear on something about this statement. Coaching basketball is a continual series of changes and adjustments. Both between games, and during games. And to even imply that nothing is being evaluated, changed or corrected by this coaching staff endlessly throughout the course of the season and individual games is just stupid. We had the best scoring team in Dambrot's career at Akron. So, if everyone had "figured out" our offense long, long ago, they must feel pretty stupid that they weren't able to stop us this year. We played poorly, Kent defended us well. That's the end of the story. And if we keep playing seasons where our post-season hopes are rested completely on the results of one game on a Saturday in early March every year, this will not be the last time we have a Sunday in early March where we all feel like this.
  16. Wouldn't surprise me. A team from a "Power Conference" who could barely win half of their games this year, and finished 8th in their league is rewarded with 2 more home basketball games, and the upper hand to beat down a couple more teams from "lesser conferences". Ya gotta love it. Akron's RPI = 58 Iowa's RPI = 81 Not much different than last year when our RPI was 40 points better than OSWho, and they sent us on the road. And also as a repeat of last year, we'll be playing a team that got knocked out of their conference tournament early, and hasn't played since Thursday.
  17. Not that this matters anymore, but Akron's RPI will likely finish in the 50's. Kent's RPI is #143. So, you would have never had to worry about being a 15 Seed, like Kent is going to be.
  18. 100% Agree. It should be a chance to beat someone of some significance, and this program needs that more than anything else right now. We earned that opportunity by winning the conference by 3 games this year.
  19. A good, intelligent analysis.
  20. You're right. Lets at least remind everyone of this... MAC Tournament Titles in last 10 years. Akron - 3 OU - 2 Kent - 2 Buffalo - 2 WMU - 1 Miami - 1 And nobody is even remotely close to our number of Tournament Final appearances.
  21. Please, feel free to exercise whatever opinion you wish about Keith. But at least be factually correct. Both of these points are wrong.
  22. And we also won it in 2009 as the #5 seed.
  23. No, I had the right guy. But I had last season's stats.
  24. They gave that good showing of fans very few instances to get excited about what was happening on the floor. Nothing good happened consistently enough at any time during that game to really ever get the fans into it.
