ZachTheZip Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 The MAC is looking strong so far. Ball State started it with a solid win over Navy last night, and now the rest of the MAC also looks like they're stepping up.We really need a win today to keep pace. Right now I would say that the MAC, as a whole, is a better conference than the ACC or Big East. Quote
RootforRoo44 Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 go OU...hope they can pull it out for the MAC against those Suckeyes Quote
ZachTheZip Posted September 6, 2008 Author Report Posted September 6, 2008 go OU...hope they can pull it out for the MAC against those SuckeyesYes! There are people on here who don't want to root for the Bobcats because they fear what benefits a win over OSU would have for them, but I will tell you right now that OSU losing a game to a MAC school will have more immediate and long-term benefits for us than if OU loses. We are more than 100 miles from OSU, and so their hold on the market is a bit weaker than it is in Athens. Anything to shake up the fan base around here, who live on the geographical fringe, is of benefit to us. Quote

zen Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 wow, I'm switching back and forth between ohio and miami..... just lovin this....let's go MAC. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted September 6, 2008 Author Report Posted September 6, 2008 It should only get better as the day goes on. Lots of close games, but grabbing a win here or there would be nice. Quote
ZachTheZip Posted September 6, 2008 Author Report Posted September 6, 2008 Everybody lost. Hopefully we can break that trend. CMU sure won't. Quote

They have got a ROCK SOLID HOLD on greater Cleveland compared to other areas of the country. Quote
zips4ever2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 I was actually pulling for Ohio to beat the Suckeyes. That would have been a huge win for the MAC. I do think it is only a matter of time before a MAC school beats OSU. The past two years, starting with us, they have not looked good. Not even their wonder child qb Pryor looked good. I do wonder what would happen if we played OSU this year and not last year. I'm still going to cheer for anyone to beat the Suckeyes. Quote
MDZip Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 The most disappointing MAC score of the day was BG getting thumped by Minnesota. Thought the best chance for the MAC to pick up some scalps were us, them and Temple, Glad we're the one that did. Quote

Now, the questions for me are:1) Is Pitt that bad?2) Is Minnesota that good?3) Is BG that much better than Buffalo?4) Where do we stand??? Quote

NIU should have won that game; Minnesota scored a TD with about 30 seconds left in the game. So another question is whether NIU is that good?! Quote
