Buckzip
I'm very glad for the win, but I'm frustrated with how the media is handling this. The Syracuse media is treating this as if SU just got beat by the Summit County Vocational School JV Practice squad, and the Akron/Cleveland media is treating this like we beat the Summit County Vocational School JV Practice Squad. WTF!?!? It would be nice to get a little credit. Thank god for Razor's blog or he ABJ wouldn't have anything other than what it grabbed off the wire.I love this win as much as everyone, but Syracuse does suck. However, this was a game against a (horrible) Big East team in their house. We were 5 to 7 point dogs and we won by two (could've been 3) touchdowns. That's a big swing over what Vegas says. We've all been saying it comes down to the skill positions, and if Jac keeps playing like he has and Bruce and Bowser continue to step up along with Jones, we'll be in the thick of things come November. And one other thing: if they could get a coach to turn that place around, that dome would be an unbelievable homefield advantage. Even half-full, it was VERY loud in there on a couple Zips 3rd down plays in the second half.

It's part of the whole "beating the teams you should" thing that everyone talks about. Syracuse is a team we should beat and we handled them, not squeeked out a win like we did against NC State. No, we put up points on them and beat them by 14. We scored more points and more consistantly on this team then Northwestern did the week before. In fact I was telling people this morning that I heard some SU sports talk bemoaning their facilities and it just about blew me away. Yeah the Dome is a little old, BUT as you say that place could be an incredible advantage with the right people in charge. It's not hard to see why the teams of Coach Dick MacPherson had solid home records. BTW, I believe I was sitting in front of you and received a few of your enthusiastic "high fives" during the game . Keep it up, we'll keep pumping life into this fan base until WE have a big home field advantage!
