Guest Guest
Newspaper says former St. Pete star transferring to University of Akron -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- AKRON-- Former Mansfield St. Peter's basketball star Marcus Butler, booted off the team at the University of Evansville after allegedly stealing from a student's dorm room, has apparently transferred to the University of Akron. According to the Akron Beacon Journal today, Butler is joining the Zips team as a walk-on. The newspaper said Butler will not be eligible at Akron until the beginning of the 2006 spring semester due to NCAA transfer rules. Butler played in two games this season at Evansville before he and two teammates were dismissed from the team. Criminal charges were filed by Evansville police and the case is still pending in Evansville. The Beacon Journal story did not mention why Butler left the Evansville team. Akron is coached by Keith Dambrot. Former Willard star Nick Dials transferred to Akron this season after a year at Ohio State. He will be eligible this fall. Z-Pouch
Is it not absolutely amazing that the Beacon gives no BB history on this guy. Granted it was in a lower division but how hard is it to mention some HS stats and at least that he was 2 time division player of year. Par for the course but sure is funny.
