Didn't Toledo get shut out at HOME the week before they beat Michigan AT Michigan?Getting beat sucks. But it's no reason to jump off the High-Level Bridge.And maybe it's just me, but even with the very real disappointment I'm feeling right now... this Zips team is performing substantially above my expectations before the season started.

exactly class of 82. We have to remember that we were picked to finish dead last in the conference. And right now we have won three games. And imagine how you guys would sound right now if we had beaten the two teams we should have(cinci and BG). Thats Thats 5-2! This team is capable of winning out, and capable of losing out. With a little help, a bowl game and a MAC east championship are completely within our reach. It's nice to be able to say that, especially after the pre season reviews UA got.

Yes, some of you still have drams of winning the EAST and the MAC and playing i another bowl game. In fact, I was sharing those same dreams until the Lee Owens curse appeared. Now we are 3-4 with 5 to play. We need to go 3-2 just to be Bowl elibigle. I think it is going to be an uphill struggle at best. But, we can dream.

Sure. But it seems to me there is some reasonable middle ground between settling for mediocrity and burning players and coaches at the stake after a hard-to-stomach loss.

it does not matter where we were picked.we are 3-4 in one of the worst conferences in d-1 football.maybe the mac is up a little thisyear,but our divison is absolutley horrible.no team has a winning record,and we should be happy? the zips had a chance this year to something becasue our division is horrible.i am not saying the season is over,but where is this bowl talk coming from.there is no way with a 6-6 record akron is going to a bowl.with the bg loss they are two games ahead of us not one.akron has to win out,and hope bg losses two more games.i am not saying akron can't win the east,but the loss last night cost us.

You've basically repeated what I said but with horrible English and managed to somehow turn it into an argument. I guess some of us are simply more optimistic than others. I don't care if we lose out the rest of our season, I will still be at the RB til' the end.

This is part of the problem! This team, with its losing record, is performing "substantially above" your expectations?! What were your expectations? I agree uafan. JD has been at Akron how long? Even when the Zips won the MAC, the Zips' regular season MAC record was only 5-3. You would think by now we would see some improvement. But, it's not happening. As long as the fans accept these excuses, all we will continue to get is excuses. I don't want a coach to tell me how lucky he was to win the Can't game. I want him to do what it takes to win...I have seen other D-I coaches make changes, even tear up a redshirt part way into the season. But, I don't see this coaching staff doing anything. They have a good team, and they are letting their team down.
