He has 14 TDs (all of Akron's TEAM stats), not the 10 listed in the table.
skip-zip
Just think...we complain about Jac's 81 QB rating.....and us Browns fans have to deal with DAs 60 QB rating. Do we really have room to complain? He's doing a pretty good job. I'd like to take away a few late-game mistakes...but he's surely made huge strides since last year. ZachTheZip
Jacq is MUCH improved as a QB... for the first 3 1/2 quarters of the game. I really hope that he uses this time off to figure out what he needs to do not to cause turnovers at exactly the worst time possible. Regardless, while I'd like to see Rodgers play some (I think it's always important for the back-up to get a few meaningful snaps) there is no question Jacq is a far better QB right now, even with his mistakes, than 90% thought he was last year. And while I agree to some extent that he's put the defense in bad positions with his late game mishaps, the bottom line is the defense needs to step up once in a while and cover for these kind of errors instead of basically always caving in and giving up the TD. Let's put it this way. If the defense could just play on a consistent "MAC average" level, the Zips (with Jacq at QB) would be the clear front-runner in the East and also compare reasonably well with the best in the West. Dr Z
Here are ESPN QB ratings.. His 14 touchdowns are included. This is the part that CJ needs to work on. He will take a LOT less heat around here when he does.
MACReport
Let me jump in here.CJ's stats are correct. These are strictly PASSING ratings and do not include rushing TDs or rushing yards. The official stats show CJ with 12 passing TDs and 10 ints. -- I messed up and accidentally typed in 10 TDs instead of 12 -- the formula was calculated correctly with 12 TD's being factored in -- it was just user error on my part in logging in 10 instead of 12 TDs. Does not change the rating. These measure a quarterback's passing rating only. It's just another angle to view performance and it uses the exact same formula that the NFL uses in its QB passing ratings.Sorry for any confusion. Here are two separate links, both from well respected sites, that clearly indicate a total of 14 passing TDs this year to date with ZERO rushing TDs (those of us who watch Jacq on a weekly basis know how improbable one of THOSE would be )CBS SportsESPN

A quick tally reflects that Jacq has 14 TD's, as stated in this thread. However, if you go to GoZips.Com, you'll find that the season stats do not include the 2 TD's thrown @ EMU. Hence, the reporting of 12 / 10 instead of 14 / 10. The MAC site does correctly reflect 14 & 10.Go Zips!!
Blue & Gold
Witnessing Jac's lack of mobility, I find it really hard to believe he was originally recruited to play WR. Is there any truth to that rumor?
Roo2
If I'm not mistaken, CJ played WR for 3 yrs in high school. He moved to QB his senior yr, so I'm pretty sure he was recruited as a quarterback for the Zips. It is hard to believe, though, that he was a WR at any time. Maybe a TE, I guess. Big Zip
If you have ever had the opportunity to see Mentor play football he indeed did play WR in a spread offense that relied on mostly short passes.
Roo2
Thanks Big Zip. I don't remember seeing any of Mentor's games, but that makes sense. I can see his size at WR being an advantage in that kind of system.
