Ball State bowl game

So... opting out of a trip to play a ball game in Boise, Idaho in the middle of winter against a team that has a ridiculous home record, when there are closer games that pay more, have better weather, and give your fans an opportunity to actually attend the game means that your chicken? I say it's smart.I would never accept a bowl bid where you play a team on it's home field while making absurd travel requirements for your fans, when there is something closer to home that pays out more money.Ball State should play Boise on a neutral field if they play at all.

The MAC has three bowl tie-ins. A few years ago we had one. I think the MAC rightly does not want to risk those tie-ins (we're already a little tenuous in the GMAC bowl) on a one year undefeated season. If it was a BCS bowl, our partners would understand, that's understood for the non-BCS conferences. But if we start taking away a major draw for our bowl partners on a year they should get it, they might reconsider for all of the other years in which the MAC is less than spectacular. We need to honor those commitments.

I strongly think they should have accepted the Humanitarian Bowl offer. The article that rifle posted made perfect sense in that the Cardinals have hurt themselves AND the MAC. They have essentially admitted that they cannot hang with a program the likes of which the MAC would love to have a couple of. An undefeated team that is afraid of competing with a program that they want to be? That's bush! Thanks Testicle Tech.Bad call, bad mojo, although the only reason I'm bummed about it is that it hurts the MAC, and thereby hurts Akron. I still have a real distaste for Ball State as a team in general, and if they make fools of themselves through this decision, good for them. I hated their swagger and team smugness when they played here. Is it possible to want something very bad to happen to them that will, at the same time, not hurt the MAC?DRINK BEER, DRINK BEER, DRINK BEER GOD D___ DRINK BEER.......GO ZIPS!SeeTeeZip

This article really frustrates me. First of all, apparently it is perfectly OK for a school to completely ignore what is best for it's fans, and go somewhere for all the other fans. This is the MAC; Diehard fans are few and far between and giving them the shaft for the loads of BCS lovers who got their degree from a "Mid-Major Confrence" school is a slap in the face for those of us who have lived with the snide remarks from BCS fans and NCAA favortism year in and year out. Yea, you know, I love taking it from you major's around every corner, but here, why don't I forego my small, little, sliver of euphoria that will come once in my lifetime and just do what you want me to do so you can be happy...... :puke: I'm totally behind BSU's decision! Go to Detroit and whale on NC State or ND. I hope there are 30,000 BSU fans there to celebrate with them! That will give this guy just what he doesn't want, an undefeated MAC team and no concrete way to justify why they aren't any good.

So if Boise was offered to play a bowl game in Muncie for far less money than they could have gotten to play in one close to their fans, would you call them chicken as well?
