These next three games on the road will define the season.First off is UNC-Greensboro, who really aren't that good. It's the final chance to work out some problems with the Zips' game.Next is a trip to play Rhode Island. A very good team, but they are beatable. Finally, it's off to Oxford to play Miami to open the MAC season. They lost one of their best players to a wrist injury, but they are still the most dangerous team in the MAC right now.For UNC Greenboro, I am expecting a 20 point win. This isn't a prediction, but an expectation. If they win by more, they have exceeded my expectations, and if they win by less or choke and lose, they have underachieved.I'll have more expectations before each game.

We at least should go 1-2 on this road trip, but could go 2-3 or even 3-3, depending on if we have our A game each game. I don't know wut to expect from the Zips in Rhode Island, but in Miami, we should be pumped for our first conference game. UNC should be a W, but we need to be excited.

I think our friend lilroodude meant to say 2-1 or 3-0, considering that we're talking about only 3 games. Anyway....I think we are all pretty much in agreement that for this year's team, our "A" game means that we play great, great defense to give ourselves a chance to win. I'm talking....a Dayton-type performance. Sure, we can win all of these games if that happens. And I sure hope it does.Unfortunately, I have to be realistic.Rhode Island: Wow...I'd consider this a great road upset, even if we were playing them with last year's team, or the 2006 team.Miami: I've watched plenty of good Zips teams get trounced down there. Last year's tremendous upset (without Jeremiah) was unbelievable. What are the chances we pull that off two years in a row? Very, very slim. Right now...I'm just hoping to get wins in HOME CONFERENCE GAMES...and possibly putting ourselves in a position to possibly make a run in the 2nd half. That's about all I can realistically hope for right now.

I agree with skip-zip that a win at Little Rhody would be monumental, and I'd be pretty surprised if it occured. And a win at Miami would also be a pleasant, although not as improbable, surprise. But since the 2008-2009 MAC looks to be even weaker than it has been over the last few years, I fully expect to win a majority of home conference games along with a few road wins.

In the first of the games, the Zips win 75-53, a 22-point victory. They exceeded my expectations for the margin of victory, but not for the game played. Lots of teams will start running the press against us if we can't find a way to beat it. Maybe getting Ronnie Steward back will help, but something needs to be done.I would consider winning one of the next two games to be a good thing, but I would prefer to beat Miami over beating URI, if it can be helped. MAC road wins are simply too precious to pass up.
