zipzipziparoo
Cruz was a great tight end. He was athletic and could have boosted the zip offense in 09. My bet is that he lead hofstra to a CAA title and appearence to the FCS playoffs.
zff
I wish him well and than him for his time at Akron. But had he made the catch vs. Buffalo he might have boosted the Zips to a victory..........

You won't be missed that bad, but good luck at Hofstra, all the best.

Dr Z
I wonder if Jose or the coaches ever contemplated a switch to defense when it was realized he was unhappy?Good luck to you Jose.I'm sure your stats from Hofstra will be posted here, so you better come through with that prediction. skip-zip
I think it's often a shame when a player gets remembered for one play.......but that dropped TD catch in the Buffalo game will certainly be my lasting memory of him. johnnyzip84
I wished he'd stuck around, but life goes on. I believe he was the #36 TE out of HS per Rivals or Scout when he signed here. Last year it struck me that he definitely had more of a "receiving TE" look than a "blocking TE". So I'm a little surprised they couldn't work him in the spread as a "big WR". But apparently that's water under the bridge. Good luck Jose.

Move on to Hofstra and make your life happen. It will help if you catch balls that are thrown to you. STZ
