Captain Kangaroo Posted May 26, 2009 Report Posted May 26, 2009 At the Indians game last night (greatest comeback since Akron vs. Marshall) I sat next to a position coach from K.e.n.t. He was a pretty nice guy and I picked his brain for his thoughts on the MAC. He offered the following --"Look out for Toledo. They are spending a lot of money to get their football program back on track. They have a great stadium, and once their new coach figures out what it takes to win in the MAC, they'll be the team to beat."I asked him about K.e.n.t.'s QB situation, and he just rolled his eyes. It looks as bad to him as it does to me. He also commented that their kicker is terrible. On BG - "They had to get rid of their coach. He wasn't graduating anyone, and that won't fly at BG."On Miami: "They were at the top of the MAC, and they quit spending money. That's why they've fallen on hard times. They don't want to spend what it takes to win anymore. And now that Cincinnati is in the Big East, they're losing all the better local recruits to the Bearcats."On Akron: "Beautiful new stadium. It will be the nicest in the MAC. Toledo is second. JD needs to win this season, or he's out. Same here at K.e.n.t. If we don't win this year, we're all out of a job." Quote
ZachTheZip Posted May 26, 2009 Report Posted May 26, 2009 Seems like it all comes down to spending money. You can tell which teams are spending and which aren't. Quote
Class of 82 Posted May 26, 2009 Report Posted May 26, 2009 On Akron: "Beautiful new stadium. It will be the nicest in the MAC. Toledo is second. And I think he will do it. Rather than feeling undue pressure, I hope he can feel like this season is the greatest opportunity he may ever have as a football coach. Quote
