Is this some kind of reality tv show? Trading Coaches? Pretty crappy show if you ask me.

Is this for certain? When will it be announced? I really like the selection if that's the case. I thought he did a decent job at YSU and was let go too early there. I'll correct myself. Peters left YSU on his own for the assistant position at Cinci. This makes me like him even more! :lol:Here's a good stat to back up the job Peters did at YSU. YSU has only had ONE 20-win regular season in its D-1 history (interesting contrast to their other Northeast Ohio rivals). This came under Peters in the next to last year he was there (1997-98 I believe).

I like the selection a lot. It will be nice to have a veteran presence in the locker room. A former D1 HC.I remember an article on Peters from maybe 8 years ago. He bemoaned the physical impossibility of fielding a decent basketball team @ YSU. He basically said their talent pool was either guys not good enough for the MAC (table scraps from Akron or K.e.n.t.), or guys who couldn't cut it academically. YSU has moved into a better conference since then, but their situation isn't much better.Youngstown is football country too. When's the last decent basketball player...upper tier D1...to come out of the Youngstown area? Greg Jones (West Virginia) back in 1981?

Biggest question for me is what kind of a recruiter is he? Is he going to be able to pick up the torch from Coach Boals and run with it?
My guess is that he a solid recruiter, and I say that bc OSU has had a "Top 25" recruiting class just about every year for the last 5 years. Now that could have had more to do with Matta and OSU but my guess is he alot more than Akron was hoping for.On a side note, I just saw where Massillon Jackson's Josh Egner just commited to Akron for 2010. 6-7 athletic wing man. He will be fun to watch. Has tremendous upside.
