ZachTheZip Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 Let's look at the RPIs of the supposed headliner teams compared to Akron's RPI.Akron: 99Auburn: 64NC State: 111UCF: 164Akron should be favored to win against all the teams we're matched up against here.Looks like Auburn is the only team that legitimately can claim to be a headliner over Akron. UCF shouldn't even be mentioned. Niagara is also playing in the tourney with an RPI of 49, which is much better than any other team in the field. Quote
johnnyzip84 Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 I think I know the problem at the Orlando Sentinel, and it's NOT residual bad blood from the Eastern Conference Finals. No it's something different entirely. They STILL think Zeke is attending the University of Arizona ZN Link Quote

The other way is like this...It was an Orlando Sentinel article and UCF is in Orlando. Auburn and NC State represent the SEC and ACC respectively. Local school and the area power conferences far outweigh RPI when making a headline. Quote

They have a sophmore C who is 7-4, 300# from Poland; otherwise they have only 1 Sr and 3 Jr's. Quote
zipdiehard Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 wasn't Central Florida the school that came into the lowly MAC to dominate in football? Quote

This is the real reason the title was written the way it was. Not a big deal. Quote

And until we become a "name", this is how it goes. Quote
