johnnyzip84 Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 The Beacon's Tom Gaffney wrote an article discussing Zip football activities as they prepare for the season. Among the items of interest that caught my eye:1) JD plans to practice at the Info beginning on August 6.2) Bain still has lingering back issues, but is expected to play. Brookhart says they need to be "smart" with him. I wonder if that may mean he sees limited action against PSU?BJ Link Quote
Zipsrifle Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 You know, it's really a shame to see these kids get hurt so bad in their 20's. I hope this doesn't linger for him. Quote
72 Roo Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 Rifle, I agree. The Bain situation is sad. Last week I talked with a few of the non-coaching staff in the football program. They said Bain has yet to return to his old form and is limited to rehab lifting and exercises. Not much strength building. They said it's going very slow and he has a tough road ahead. Read that to mean he may not make it back to contribute like he was once able. I hope that is proven wrong. The guy, while huge, still is a young man who deserves to enjoy his playing career. If he were healthy and returned to form, there is no doubt in my mind that he could single-handedly improve our defense.Keep a good thought for the guy. Quote
