GP1
http://www.ohio.com/mld/beaconjournal/spor...es/11741913.htm There is a great case study in supply and demand waiting to happen in the Columbus drug dealing market. Now that OSU will have a tougher drug policy, we can make a couple of assumptions (which are debatable). First, OSU football players will have to go on their last binge of smoking pot. Secondly, the day the drug policy starts, the players will have to reduce their drug usage (maybe, again debatable). What does this have to do with supply and demand? Easy. The increased use of pot will drive up the cost of pot in the Columbus market. With the behavior of the Buckeye football team since Sweater Vest Jim took over, we all know a spike in their behavior can impact the entire market. The spike in their behavior will drive up the cost of pot as inventories are depleted. Following the spike in price, there will be an certain reduction in price after the drug policy takes over when inventories are replaced. My advice, buy stock now in Columbus drug dealers (CDD) until the day the drug policy is active and then ring the register. Take if for what it's worth. I just wanted to inject some economics into the board. Have a nice day everyone.
Zipsrifle
So, it looks like they will do more drug testing, but the penalties are still TBD by the coaching staff. Does OSU have to make the results of those drug tests public? If not, this is just a waste of money. Notice how the Stinkin' Urinal makes JT look so steadfast: "But Tressel will not succumb to the public's suggestion of a one-and-done policy and increase his penalties for off-the-field infractions. That usually means first-time offenders enter the in-house program, second-timers receive two-week sanctions and third-time offenders are suspended for one year. Tressel said coaches have the freedom to do whatever they think the situation calls for beyond that." He won't succumb huh. Well, is that a good thing? Apparently he stands for what's right, according to the ABJ. How often do they do drug testing? If it's twice a year, and you need to be busted 3 times for a one year suspension, then it'll take you two years to get a suspension. I don't know the details, but before I go and applaud OSU for their more strict policies, I need to be assured they aren't just blowing smoke. Still seems to me that there are pleanty of ways around this.

When JT says that the easy thing to do is kick a kid off of the team as he has in the past, he is completely being dishonest. The hard thing to do is to kick a kid off of the team and try to win without him. I think the truth of the matter is that OSU fans really don't care what the kids do off of the field as long as they are winning. I am also torn by this thought. My personal opinion is that I could care less what happens to Akron football players off of the field as long as they win. The winning would make the bull $#!+ much more easy to swallow. Would the ABJ be so forgiving if it was Akron players and they were winning MAC Championships one after another? I think they would be more than willing to bury the program. Especially that little prick Pluto. You all know I think Pluto's nice guy act is a bunch of BS. I'm going golfing Friday so I will not be in the Nation. Have a nice Memorial Day everyone. When you have the day off Monday, try to remember why.
Buckzip
"I think the truth of the matter is that OSU fans really don't care what the kids do off of the field as long as they are winning." You are 110% wrong about that. Most OSU fans are pissed off about all of the problems OSU is having off the field. Most, like me, are tired of the people that defend Tressel. Just as I am a huge UA fan, I am also a huge OSU fan. Go to an OSU fan site, and you will see how pissed off alot of people are. If all you watch is the BS agenda that ESPN has then I assume you believe everything.

If all you watch is the BS agenda that ESPN has then I assume you believe everything. I was at a Reds game Monday night and I ran into a couple of OSU fans who had nothing but excuse after excuse for OSU. Everything from "Everyone does it" to the old reliable "At least they don't have guns". Soon, OSU fans will be as good as Notre Dame fans in making excuses for their team. As far as fan boards being an indication of overall opinion, I don't think that is a good measure. Look at this board. We all really care about Akron and 95% of the ALUMNI could care less. OSU is poised to go on another national championship run this year. Last week I was in Las Vegas and placed a $5 bet on them to win it all. The odds were only 12-1 which tells me everyone else thinks they are going on a run. We will see how these "pissed off" fans react to the off season problems if they hoist the Sears Trophy (or whatever they call it) again. My guess is that there will be a lot of people in Columbus with short memories.

FUCK THE BUCKS! Agreed!!!! Everyone stop posting. In fact, the people who run the site can take off my topic. I was worried that would happen when I posted it.
