Kangaroo Craig Posted June 2, 2005 Report Posted June 2, 2005 This guy is real quick. The story doesn't say anything about his size though. My guess is there must be a catch if he was passed up by the BCS schools. Maybe grades? Discipline problems? SHAWN BAYES LATEST Can't STATE FOOTBALL SIGNEE Tennessee native was former state sprint champ Can't, Ohio -- Wide receiver Shawn Bayes (Memphis, Tenn./Craigmont) has signed an NCAA National Letter of Intent to play football at Can't State University, head football coach Doug Martin announced today (May 31). Bayes, a former state sprint champion in Tennessee, is the latest addition to a recruiting class that has centered around speed. “One of our main goals at the beginning of the recruiting class was to add more team speed,†Martin said. “We feel that we have done a good job of that and Shawn is a another fast player who adds depth at the receiver position and can be an impact player because of his great speed.†Bayes earned all-state honorable mention honors as a senior receiver and defensive back when he scored seven touchdowns and intercepted 10 passes. He recorded 15 interceptions and also rushed for 548 yards in his career. In addition, Bayes also was a track and field standout, winning the state championship in the 200-meters as a junior and finished runner-up his senior year. Quote
