The Zips are responsible for one other change in college soccer.By the start of the season, the NCAA will have a new rule on tournament games. Now the game will be played at a home city, not necessarily on the home field. So if a team's field is deemed unplayable — like UA's last year — the game can be moved to another local field. No more ''home'' games in Chicago.
Sounds like we got heard.

Glad to see it and maybe our protests did help some. I know many of us including me wrote to the NCAA that weekend. Too bad it was a year too late. :(

It's still hard for me to believe that the rule was the way it was to begin with.
It's still hard for me to believe that it NEEDS TO BE A FREAKING RULE IN THE FIRST PLACE.It should have been common sense. A rule like that needs to be put into place not to stop mistakes, but to stop corrupt decisions.

Just so everyone knows, this ruling was not protested just by Akron's own soccer fans. The NCAA got "the message" from across the nation, from all parts, and most importantly from coaches and administrators who knew that if it could happen to Akron, it could happen to anyone. Paranoia is one thing, self-preservation lies on everyone's pitch.
