Morgan State is even hyping the Info's opening a little on their own web site. Interestingly their coach has named CJ1 as the starter, but he's also said that FR Donovan Dickerson could see time. Let's hope he's not a combo of Donovan McNabb and Eric Dickerson MSU Link

Hey, guys, I posted this on another thread -- sorry for the repetition, but wanted to share some things on generating buzz for the team and stadium.(1) E-mails (cheaper and faster than paper mailings) to your alumni, both to get them to attend and to donate and/or sell some of the other promotional stuff.(2) T-shirts that say something such as "InfoCision Stadium -- Inaugural Season" and list your home games/dates. (Sorry if I misspelled the Stadium name.)Here's one vendor, pulled at random from Google: http://www.customink.com/categories/short-...hirts/16/styles(3) Hats or visors or something similar with "Akron Zips" and your kangaroo logo. (Solicit donations from alumni/local businesses to defray costs.)(4) Shoot, go back to high school and get the cheerleaders to throw (mini) footballs into the stands. Watch in case you spot one of them with a good arm. Morganna went into retirement at the end of 1999 and now lives in Columbus, Ohio. She no longer grants interviews or does appearances. Since she was in her prime in the 1970's, as Martha would say, that's a good thing.

It was the Capt., not me, who posted the pic. Apparently we are the only two guys who know who they er I mean she was. Morganna went into retirement at the end of 1999 and now lives in Columbus, Ohio. She no longer grants interviews or does appearances. Since she was in her prime in the 1970's, as Martha would say, that's a good thing.Thx for clarifying, Zip, and for most of the update about Morganna. I think you could have safely ended your news somewhere around, "She retired at the end of 1999 and now lives in Columbus, Ohio." It does bear a striking resemblance to Morgan or for those of us who knew her before she went all Hollywood, Patsy McKinney (I guess that would wreak the Morgan State connection).

BUMP! (27 hours from kickoff and no more dicussion about the game?)I became a little concerned about my 56-13 score prediction after I read the article on what goes on with the UA coaching staff in preparation for a game. Maybe I'm making too much out of it, but the MSU defense sounds like it's fairly decent and very aggressive. I sure hope the O-Line creates a whole lot more room than last week. Speaking of last week, ONE thing that was kind of nice is that I don't recall any high snaps......maybe I shouldn't have said that :DI'm sticking with 56-13. Go Zips!!!

I'll go with 45-10. I think MSU scores a fieldgoal in the first half and touchdown late in the 4th. I'm not worried about the strength of their defense... I'm sure they weren't playing against an offense like ours (with the expertise of our OC and qb coach) in the film that the coaches watched.Heck, we gave up over 300 yards to Penn State in the first half last week, but I thought our defense looked pretty solid.MSU is outmatched, and the outcome will show that. One tradition we have is the Goodyear blimp flying over the stadium before and during every game. It dates back to the early days of the rubber industry in Akron. They also get great birds-eye views for the free streaming video broadcasts of the games on the web.(or was I just dreaming that the other night? )

I say kudos to Morgan St. for coming to Akron for our stadium opener. Tough game for them but at least we are able to give them a nice check. Any guesses what the total ticket and concessions revenue was today? And how much we paid MSU?

Thanks MSU! I'm glad that some of your fans got to experience the day with us, and that two of our former players came back as well.Us students gave your team some crap when they were walking to and from the locker room, but I can guarantee that that's the easiest we will be on any opposing team this year. Some of your players seemed to enjoy the trash talking, too.
