goodthts
Aaron.............you are wrong. This area was not a sanctioned lot, and I have the feeling that because it was not, it was open an open target for the Nazi's on duty. These were definately gals over 21! Keep in mind this was south of Exchange. In areas unsanctioned these guys were "working". I'm surprised more posters haven't come forward with similar stories. The problem wasn't with local law enforcement (APD, UAPD, SCSO), but rather with the state liquor control agents. They were the ones busting people for open containers. That said, three of them walked right past me in Lot 9 and never said a word about the beer-filled cup in my hand.Same here. Two games so far. Same location in Lot 9. Cops on ATV's and police on mounted units passed by us multiple times. We had red plastic and paper pepsi cups filled with various adult beverages. Our ages ranged from 35-60's. No one was ever bothered, questioned or stopped. Even while walking through Lot 9 on our way to other lot scenes, we saw no problems or overtly rowdy behavior that would warrant ticketing and/or arrest.I say it was an isolated incident. Nothing to see here folks....move along....
Blue & Gold
Before the Morgan State game I watched as some clearly-plastered, glassy-eyed chick petted on one of the mounted police horses for a few minutes. The cop said nothing. She wasn't hurting anyone. Everyone, police included, were in pleasant, friendly moods. Kudos to the APD & UAPD. Btw, the mounties are a great touch. People love them & they add even more flair to the gameday environment.

Hmmm, we all need to get some blue and gold cups.
Big Zip
I had an opportunity to talk with the mounted summit county sheriff's officers. I didn't realize it until I spoke with them that those were there own horses. I agree -- I like having them around for tailgating.

Dr Z
The Chief of University Police rode by on a Segway and stopped to talk in our lot as people were drinking while speaking with him. Nobody was out of control and his demeanor seemed pleasant. My wife told me that she saw some underage drinkers getting ticketed in another lot before the game, they had a big beer bong (not the one previously posted on ZN). Keep your alcohol on the DL and don't act like a fool.I agree with Z-P, bring back the beer tent. I would hope that the new AD is aware of this issue.
