ZachTheZip
Way to go Ampai! THAT is why he was put on the Hermann Trophy watch list.
MDZip
Nanchoff had an assist on one of Ampai's goals. Eight straight games with at least one point for him. I wonder what the Akron record is.
MDZip
Nanchoff had an assist on one of Ampai's goals. Eight straight games with at least one point for him. I wonder what the Akron record is.I don't know why I bother to ask these questions if I'm just going to look them up and answer them myself, but the answer is not only games with consecutive points, but consecutive games with at least one goal is Pete Milich in 1960 who scored a goal in an incredible 16 straight games which is still the NCAA record. He still ranks among the top 15 in the NCAA record books in 13 categories to this day. Wow.He also holds the school record for goals in a game with 7. I'd never read the Zips soccer media guide but there is a lot of interesting stuff in it like in 1961- Defeated defending NCAA Champion St. Louis, 3-2, at the Rubber Bowl in front of 10,000 spectators as part of the Acme-Zip spectacular. That season five of 11 All-Ohio selections were from Akron. So I guess our Jackson field record crowds this year aren't as impressive as I thought.
