Captain Kangaroo Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 Iveljic picks Akron Having grown up in Bosnia, Germany and the United States playing soccer, Igor Iveljic never played football until last year. It looks like he will play football a while longer. Iveljic, a senior kicker at Mentor, has verbally committed to the University of Akron. He also considered Ball State and Toledo. Iveljic played soccer two years at Mentor until switching to football last year. He made two of six field-goal attempts, was 31-of-34 on extra points and had 11 touchbacks on kickoffs. He also will punt this season. Quote
zipboy Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 Per the PD, he made a 47 yarder in scrimmage action last week and hit a 55 yarder in warm ups. Strong leg, if he has a good mental make up, he will be fine. Looks like he will be our kicker next year? Quote
zip37 Posted August 21, 2005 Report Posted August 21, 2005 Great news, there are some strong teams that have a glaring weakness in the kicking game a la Fla. State (the SEMINOLES!!!!!!!!) With ball ammunition lock and load. Quote
zipboy Posted August 28, 2005 Report Posted August 28, 2005 Igor was 0 for 2 last week on FGs vs Glenville. Not sure the distance but Mentor got shut out. Quote
