That means that Schepp will have to step up. Do not be surprised if two-three FIRST YEAR offensive linemen play and end up starting a majority of the games this season. Missing 6-8 weeks for an OL with little experience will have him behind the 8-ball physically and mentally. The OL is the key to the season, running and passing starts in the trenches.

The silver lining here is that we didn't expect much out of this year anyway.

Now I think a lot of the younger lineman will get some valuable experience.

I just hope JD can keep getting recruiting classes like the last one.

good point. hopefully we get some of these younger guys some pt,and develope some depth. the good thing about our season with all the question marks is that we have some very winnable mac games.our occ mtsu and army are not virgina or even penn state of last year.

I think it is crippling.

We lose Donaldson. He's one of the top 3 OL's we've got, and the most physical of the group.

We're essentially trading the true Freshman year of a promising OL for his 5th year redshirt senior year.

We'll see what happens, but it sucks to lose a key guy from a position where we're so very thin talent-wise.

Donaldson was def. one of the top two linemen, if not the top. The sad thing is that he has broken his foot the past 2 years before this one. all at the same time during the summer. too bad for him, he had to be pumped up for this season, coming in soo highly recruited, and not playing yet. he is a good kid, he'll bounce back.
