Attendance was officially 2700. That's a Lee Jackson Field record. It also didn't count the dozens of people hanging around outside the stadium, peeking in through the fence, or watching from the Student Union Balcony.A true sellout. The third one of the season, with at least one more coming. Time to expand the stands or something.

Is it possible to bring in some additional seating for the next game? Move the fences or something? Totally agree that the new soccer stadium needs increased capacity

One point of concern... Nanchoff went down midway through the first half and did not return. Any status update that anyone is aware of?

From where I was standing, it didn't look good. He had to be carried off the field. I'm afraid he may have a broken shinbone just below the knee, but I hope I'm very wrong.

They said he had ice on his hamstring. Hopefully just a pulled hammy.

Boston College beat #13 St. Johns, setting up a matchup between non-seeded teams (They'll play Drake). That makes 6 seeded teams losing in the 2nd round so far, and at least one more is likely. That tells me that the selection committee didn't do a very good job.

Possibly all three seeded teams in the games going on right now may go down, as Sacramento State just scored in the 75th minute to tie it up against UCLA. UCSB is up 1-0 over San Diego with under ten to play, and Stanford just went up 1-0 on UC Irvine with about 5 minutes to go in the first half.Who would we rather see next sunday? Stanford or UC Irvine?

UCSB on the verge of knocking off #11 San Diego 1-0. Sacramento State tied 1-1 with UCLA with 12 minutes to go.The Selection Committee could (and should) come under some heavy scrutiny if 50% or more of their seeded teams lose to unseeded teams in the second round. I don't like how the first round is based almost 100% on geography.

Who would we rather see next sunday? Stanford or UC Irvine?

Even though Irvine is seeded and has a better record, Stanford is more dangerous and has played a tougher schedule.Irvine is practically located in Mexico, while Staford is farther north and subject to some Pacific Northwest weather. If the weather forecasts are right, we could have a bigger advantage against Irvine than the Fighting Trees.

UCSB knocks off #11 San Diego 1-0. That's 7 out of 16 seeded teams that have been upset in the 2nd round, in their first games.#6 UCLA holds on against Sacramento State. 7 yellow cards in that game.

My wife and I saw them too. It was like a scene from an old baseball movie. Of course, my lack of planning meant that we also were on the outside looking in. But it was still a very enjoyable experience. They need to sell tickets to the Info's top levels for the remaining tournament games

Speaking of groin injury's. Did anyone catch in warm ups the one South Florida shot that went quite a bit wide right into the standing onlookers and nailed a guy right in the groin? He went down and looked to be in quite a bit of pain. I hope he was alright.

That ball flew right passed me and as it was in the air I thought about sticking my arm out to stop it but for some reason I just moved out of the way. I too was right in front of you, i put a hand up but couldnt get it. If it makes you feel any better I caught two other balls and taunted one of their coaches who went to retrieve it from me and then threw it over his head and made him go get it TWICE.

I was the person talking with bigzipguy. I saw the ball coming and turned my torso to put my hipon the ball side. Honestly, I gauged that the ball would pass between us. It came in so hard and fast thatit was difficult judge. Based on the impact sound it probably would have sprained a wrist if anyone madecontact with it.It took several minutes for bigzipguy to recover. He was still gimping about after halftime. I really feltbad for him. Had no good idea what we could do for him. At least he got to look up at the young babewho came over to check on him several times. I think once he could enjoy looking at her he was on theway to recovery. Had to smart like h-e-c-k.
