Fifteenth year as a season ticket holder for Zips basketball and I have missed 3 home games during that time. I will miss three this season due to the Zips scheduling games against the Browns and the rest of the NFL. I know the Browns stink, and it is impossible to please all of the fans, but a 5 PM, 6 PM or a 7 PM start would work when going against the Browns.

You picked the Browns over the Zips?
I don't want to speak for Akron1, but I think he is picking the greatest sports entertainment in America, the NFL, against Akron vs St. Francis. I really don't blame him.

Yes, I picked the Browns over our Zips. Today, I saw Josh Cribbs set an all-time NFL kickoff return record with his eighth career return for a TD and Jerome Harrison run for a Browns single-game rushing record of 286 yards (that's the third best rushing day in NFL history). My point is...why go up against the Browns/NFL, when attendance struggles like it does. I just think it is a poor decision by The University of Akron. Go Zips!

To imply that the University of Akron simply decided to go up against the Browns (who are an awful excuse for entertainment btw, todays result not withstanding) is drastically oversimplifying the amount of factors that go into scheduling these games.

Not implying, just stating a fact concerning the start time. You can't tell me that they could not have scheduled the game for 5, 6 or 7 PM. Again, talking about the start time (2 PM) not the dates. I just know that our group of four men and a few fans in our section all chose not to attend because of the Browns game. It was a big topic Friday night. How about noon? Then any Browns fans can still see the end of the game. I think the U of A should look at a few factors when scheduling their start times. We could not give our tickets away today. We make every effort to not have a seat go unused, if someone is unable to attend. There is another topic that should be started, how can season ticket holders sell or donated their unused tickets, so we do not have to see so many blue seats from game to game.

I brought this idea up a couple years ago. It's great about all the corporate partners who buy those lower bowl reserved seats. It contributes a LOT to the Z-fund. Problem is, most of the time they go unused. I for one (and I'm a GA season ticket holder myself) would LOVE to sit down there for a game or two. Tom, make this happen. Could it be run through gozips.com? Is there a legality issue? I wouldn't think, as long as they're changing hands for face value or lower.

Seriously, in 2009, why do you have to choose? DVR the Browns and come to the Zips, then go home and avoid all the crap between Harrison's runs and Cribbs' returns. Watched the entire Browns game in just under 1:45 today (and have been under 90 minutes for some of the worst games). Technology is a wonderful thing!

Folks, a lot of schools, including the University of Hawaii, with which I'm personally familiar, have their websites set up to not only buy tickets, but to exchange/swap and re-sell tickets that are not going to be used. I am sure, if they wanted to, that UA could make similar arrangements through Gozips.com.

Ding, ding, ding= winner.I might give someone a break considering next week's home game vs. Oakland, but if you are choosing btwn a TV GAME and physical attendance and having an issue with it....

You know, if Akron was actually playing -somebody- then some of you guys might have real points. But Browns over Zips is a no-brainer. It doesn't matter how bad the Browns are, it is still a bigger event than Akron Vs OOC fodder. With the way the football team goes out of their way to schedule around the Suckeye's, how hard is it for the basketball team to schedule around NEO's darling (it doesn't matter how bad they play, the Browns are always going to be the darling of the area).
