Hilltopper
I've been sick the past few days and have had lots of time on my hands. I decided to take a look at a few of our opponents message boards and here is what someone on Bobcat Attack reported after attending the UIC vs Zips game.http://www.bobcatattack.com/messageboard/t...&PID=205084Zeke did not impress me at all. Definitely a 7foot PROJECT IMOYou all can draw your own conclusions when you see him play but my opinion is he is going to start and maybe grow a little this year but if he doesn't learn the playbook, defensive assignments, and his teammates don't look for him to be the focal point of the O he isn't going to be good for them this year.Hope this gives an idea of what we'll be up against come early jan. I predict an OU victory based off the performance I saw tonight against a much weaker opponent. You can read the rest.ps; Check out the thread about the Rowdies "Stealing" their chants. The Hip Zip
Yep, he's right on. One game and he's an expert on Zips BB. How on God's green earth will we be able to contain KVK? I look at all the MAC boards from time to time and not one of them has more distorted opinions than the old Bobcat Attack. The sad thing is that they really believe that they are something special. After a steady diet of cupcakes their record is pretty good but they are about to get a healthy dose of reality.I must admit though that I really love the Convo. It's a great place to watch a game. ksu sucks
If you delete 'Bobcat Attack' it's impossible to tell which team/fanbase in ohio you are talking about. Not true. Check out some of the threads on there. They are far and away the most delusional of the MAC fans. I think Akron may be second, though. And that NEcatNEtime guy is probably jupitertoo. Quickzips
Bobcatattack is usually an interesting read. I'd compare their fanbase to the Browns fan base. When they win, they are rabidly delusional. To the point where their teams are ready to compete for a BCS bowl/Sweet 16/National Title/etc. When they lose, you pretty much need a suicide watch going over there. There isn't a bigger roller coaster ride of a fanbase in the conference than the OU groupies.
Dave in Green
Really, I didn't see much significantly different there in the evaluation of the Zips performance than has been expressed at times right here on this forum. If we based our evaluation of the Zips only on one of their earlier games, we all might have a more negative opinion of how good they really are.But judging the Zips on their early games is deceptive, as they have really come together recently. The front line, especially Conyers and B McKnight, have given the Zips a whole new dimension over the past few games. Right now, there is a really nice balance between the frontcourt and backcourt players. Either can carry the team at any given time, but neither really has to carry the other.Zeke is not a "project" in the sense of a big guy with minimal coordination and little grasp of the basics. But he is a true freshman with lots of room for growth. I like the way KD is rationing his minutes, as it will be important to have him peaking at the end of the season and not wilting from the fatigue of his first long college season.
